According to TFL the strike will have "little impact": http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/n ... 20302.aspx

It would still be a long journey though if you take the boat to central london and then walk to Trafalgar Square to wait for a bus.
I wonder how the ticket sales are for Romeo and Juliet tonight? There's alot of seats they need to sell for a ballet

Anybody went to the Feis Festival yesterday?
We went, but I stayed only for an hour as I was so tired I could barely stand... My friends stayed till the end I think!
I saw Sharon Shannon Big Band on stage 2, they were brilliant and obviously enjoying themselves as much as the public was enjoying

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Got there just after 7 and managed to get in but hated it the second I got into the main arena. The layout was very oppressive and it didn't feel as open as the Hyde Park set-up. It was pretty obvious that all those people trying to get out afterwards was going to be a nightmare. Decided to stick around and watch Christy Moore who was very good but got fed up with the barging idiots you generally get at outdoor gigs like that. So as soon as he finished I left. Was interested in seeing Bob Dylan but just didn't want to stay there any longer and wanted to avoid the inevitable crush afterwards.Celini wrote:Anybody went to the Feis Festival yesterday?

I'm not a big fan of outdoor park gigs anyway (much prefer festivals like Green Man, Latitude or End of the Road) and only go when I really want to see the band playing. So I've only been a couple of times in the past couple of years (Radiohead and Blur). I do have tickets to Pulp's Hyde Park gig in a couple of weeks though.

Wasn't it raining on and off yesterday? Must have been a nightmare at an outdoor music festival

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Luckily while I was there it hardly rained at all, but I've been in plenty of torrential downpours at outdoor gigs in the past and no they're definitely not pleasant. It rained almost all weekend at the Green Man Festival last year and spoilt it a little.superhero wrote:Wasn't it raining on and off yesterday? Must have been a nightmare at an outdoor music festival

I saw a woman wearing white stilettos covered in mud to the ankles
... really what the heck are they thinking!!!
It was indeed raining on and off ... I was under the big tent stage 2, so the rain did not bother me :)

I'm praying it doesn't rain at Hyde Park on Friday for The Killers. I'm having my hair done, and it can't get wet for 3 days

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Yeah I ventured up to the Finsbury Park Mudfest, and it reminded me why I don't bother with outdoor festivals much anymore... Got there after 6pm, caught a bit of Shane Macgowan, Christy Moore (quite liked some of those quieter songs), and "enjoyed" seeing Bob Dylan's illuminated hat from a distance (Well I think it was him, there were no TV screens so couldn't really see, and it sure didn't sound like Dylan to me). Left long before the end...Celini wrote:Anybody went to the Feis Festival yesterday?
