Beate, I have to agree. I think Orry Main was his best character - I'd argue that it was better than anything else he has done! It just so happens that I have spent the last few weeks watching North and South reruns on an obscure Sky TV channel (it is called Zone Romantica). The last episode was screened on Friday. I haven't seen North and South for years but it is an epic mini-series (particularly enjoyed books 1 &2) and it was nostalgic watching all the actors, particularly Swayze, in their younger days. So sad he has passed away at such a young age.
Yes! That's where I caught it by accident when we were in Sussex in that B&B with Sky TV channels! No movie channels but they had Zone Romantica, LOL.
Since then I have not been able to get the title music out of my head AT ALL. It pops up in my brain at random times and I try not to hum it then!

I think everything has been said, it's truly a sad loss even though it was somewhat bound to happen.
