Gamer 2009

GAMER is a high-concept action thriller set in a near future when gaming and entertainment have evolved into a terrifying new hybrid. Humans control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online games: people play people...for keeps. Mind-control technology is widespread, and at the heart of the controversial games is its creator, reclusive billionaire Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall). His latest brainchild, the first-person shooter game "Slayers," allows millions to act out their most savage fantasies online in front of a global audience, using real prisoners as avatars with whom they fight to the death

(Sounds and looks a bit like a new version of "The Running Man")

Looks pretty good though and Gerard Butler looks..... easy on the eye too :O)

Very much looking forward to this film, just sad they've delayed it a few weeks.

The plot looks exaaaaaactly like Death Race, which was "inspired" by God knows how many other films.
Oh well, "everyone copies from everyone in Hollywood" as a wise man once said...

But the guys from Crank and a solid 18 rating does inspire some interest in how far it goes.

Has anyone seen this film yet? Seems it's been out for 5 days in the UK now. Just wondering whether it's worth watching.

Forgot about this thread, caught it first day and loved it. It was cliched and the plot had been done before, but it was very funny, had great action pieces and a wonderful dance sequence too, Neveldine/Taylor struck fried gold again.
9/10

I'd just like to say I've seen the film Gamer recently. The trailer was brilliant the film however, was a major disappointment. That is of course just my opinion.
