Coincidentally, I have had to resume cooking recently as the resident chef has been unwell. Fortunately he is improving at last and has been rummaging in the fridge to see what he can turn into soup tomorrow. It's a start!

It's not that I don't like cooking, but I'd rather treat it as an occasional leisure activity, when I have time and inclination. What I hate is the pressure of a long day and then having to cook and clear up on top. If it was left to me, I would sit down with a cheese roll and spend my precious remaining free moments catching up with the papers.
