The Devil's Double
Re: The Devil's Double
First time to Wandsworth. Bit of a trek but relieved to have tiptoed the riots. Small screening room but cosy set-up. I have to mention the rude couple in the row in front who hogged all the seats and turned away others to accommodate their mates (who then rocked up half an hour after the film started). Very cheeky....
Film-wise, thought it was excellent. Violent, but not in an overblown way. Thought about watching the BBC's House of Saddam again which was on a few years ago and I think that had Uday in that as well. Would be interesting to compare and contrast...

Re: The Devil's Double
Excellent movie - great story and fantastic acting - scary to think that the film is based on real life and the violence has been dumbed down. Great that Latif is still alive but what a life he had - so sad.

Re: The Devil's Double
Saw the film in Bradford. Thought it was well made but pointless. The film didn't go anywhere. Once Uday's character had been graphically explained, we were subjected to numerous further detailed portrayals of his psychopathology. The film describes a character of a real person as if it is fact, I wouldn't know if that is true, however, the film serves well as a justification of the invasion of Iraq and the overthrow of the regime.

Everytime I see something on the news about the Gaddafi family, I can't help but think back to this film....

I can see where you're coming from, but be careful not to believe all the propaganda............from all sides that is.
