Malaga/Faro

#1 Post by priamia » Tue Oct 06, 2009 10:26 am

Hello! o/

I am thinking of getting away for New Years and then again for Valentines - a week each. Even though I've been to Spain, Ive not been to Malaga and I've not been to Potugal, but heard Faro is lovely.

Has anyone here been to either Malaga or Faro and can recommend somewhere reasonably priced to stay?? Also what is there to do, see, eat, dance etc etc. Are the places easy to navigate??

I look forward to hearing all your recommendations soon!
Thanks x

I've been to Faro, since my boyfriend is from there. Do you want me to ask him for information?

I haven't been to either, but I heard from my work colleague that Malaga is very nice. There's some nice beaches there, so it might make a good winter break; although it's probably still going to be too cold to dip into the sea for a swim.

Primia, my bf advises you to go there for Valentine's instead of New Year (like you mentioned you were thinking of doing). But if you are going for a week, you should consider renting a car to visit some of the towns/places nearby. Faro is small (you can walk almost anywhere) so you can see it in 1 or 2 days. My bf recommends "residencial afonso III" as a place to sleep.
