I clearly remember playing together with my brother, trying to complet the game without saving the game and collecting the maximum hearts we could! I think we finished it once after 12 or 13 hours (without saving) and collecting 17 and 1/4 hearts!

so if I had to tick a box, this should be "retro console gamer" (even so I am really not a gamer... but there si no option for "not a gamer"

Edit: Just remember we played a lot of Secret of Mana as well... loved it :D
(I think I stopped playing/being interested when all the 3D acceleration started... it made me feel motion sick!)
Some consider Zelda one of the greatest console games in history. I wish I had played it but that was exclusive to N64, it even has time travel which is one of my favourite genres!

I guess the option for "not a gamer" is not to vote ;) Someone actually voted "I hate games, should be outlawed" though, lol.

nooooo Zelda was not exclusive to N64... I never had a N64, I played on SNES but I think the first of the serie was actually on the good ole NES!

I like to game occasionally though I do become addictive if I want to finish a game. Personally I love The Sims and have finish each one I started. Right now playing that on fb. I own a wii with the OH. We do play it sometimes when we have time. Before that it was all nintendo. And before nintendo it was a spectrum.

Thanks for the reviews of Heavy Rain & Uncharted MrGlass o/ - they are both waiting in our large 'to be played' pile! The problem is good games really do take over your life :p - DH and I generally play through them together - though he will sometimes stay up half the night playing them - that I can't do - so I do need to find time if I am starting one I expect will be very good.

Since I am in the 'girl' group I suppose I should confess that my first gaming love is The Sims on PC - now playing that really could make whole days disappear  - though the first time playing the original Civilization through takes some beating!

This might have inspired me to start Heavy Rain this weekend - though we do have the problem of not having completed LA Norie - which is very good (my kind of game) - but the questioning does get repetitive to me. Decisions, decisions!

just been playing a donkeys years old 'horror 'game called Silent Hill. Such a lot of thougth wnet into the game, not just the layout, but the whole presentation. Even though its 12 years old it still scares the shit out you when you play.

I actually prefer this game to the sequels.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Oh yeah that first game is well scary, made me jump plenty of times playing it, that was a great game (I had it on the pc). Never played the sequels though. Another bloody scary old game was first Resident Evil game.

Currently playing Uncharted 2 and its even more epic and thrilling than the first one (which I thought would take some beating). Incredible and stunningly beautiful game. This is the 4th game I'm playing on my PS3 and all of them have been brilliant. I feel I have got more than my money worth when I b*ght the PS3 a 2-3 weeks ago. However, I better take a long break from it once I finished this game as I've turned into a sleepless wreck of a zombie...

Edit: 9/11 Just completed Uncharted 2. Wow, one of the best games ever. The action set pieces are bigger than any Indiana Jones movie, the leading star is charismatic, the story is rollicking. Cant wait for the next one to come out 1st November.

Just completed PS3 version of Batman Arkham Asylum (1st game) not City. Just in time before the release of Arkham City. This was a superbly executed game and probably the best superhero game ever I've played...but it did not overwhelm me as it did for most gamers. I think I may have been spoiled with the brilliance of Uncharted 2 making everything else pale in comparison. Oh well.

A big big draw for me was the awesome Kevin Conroy voicing Batman once again (the definitive Batman) and equally awesome Mark Hamill voicing the Joker (again the definitive Joker...Until Heath came along). In fact this is the same voice casting as the Batman animated series and Justice league cartoons/features that ran on and off through the span of the last 19 years or so. It is truly a brilliant voice cast, no wonder they have kept as much of the original team as much as possible. Unfortunately the script did not do them just justice, nevertheless its a delight to hear them, Batman, Joker, Harley Quin, and poison ivy etc.

The story quite frankly is nonsense. It cant touch not even the weakest episode of the Batman Animated series. So its all down to the gameplay and graphics. And that's where the game really scores. Controlling batman in combat and stealth is a terrific experience as I almost feel I am Batman. The animation of him just had me geeking out big time and hearing the thugs fearing my looming presence is fun. This was real proper Batman and furthermore he has a detective mode too, where he can scan for clues or strategic points to plan his stealth/combat stregies. Its just all smoothly executed and I simply cant fault the control system, its a joy to play.

There are some big downers for me though. One is unengaging soulless story and average dialogue (sctually the smaller characters and henchmen had the best and humerous dialogue for some reason). Biggest downer for me though, is the soundtrack. There is a subtle imitation Hans Zimmerish score going on there (similar to Batman Begins) but it has absolutely no encore or main Batman theme. And there were plenty of moments in this game where I wanted a rousing Batman score as something Batman awesomeness happens. Major major dissapointment in that area. I was also getting very tired of the same dark coloured pallete. I know Batman should be in dark tones but there needs to be more variation within the game to keep things fresh.

8.5/10 not the masterpiece everyone made it out to be but it is the greatest comic book game.

I've actually pre-ordered the PC version of Batman Arkham City (the sequel) which comes out in a few weeks for only £25 bundled free with Batman Begins and Dark Knight Blu Rays at Thehut.com. Considering that is the price for just the game alone and the Blurays are selling £17 cheapest on the net, this is a mega deal. Though I have Dark Knight already on Blu Ray, I can trade it for something else. Batman Begins, I only had on DVD.

Cant wait to play Uncharted 3. I preordered it using the 20% voucher for first time registration with online Sainsburysentertainment site. 2nd November. Its like anticipating a new Indiana jones movie, the Uncharted games are that great. Thats all the games I have budgeted for this side of Christmas, I think its enough for me.
