In a way it could be a film for me. There are some of my favourite actors in it Stone, Chastain, Howard, Davis, Janney were all wasted to varying degrees, and worst of all was Spacek who played a really bad character.prettyxcool wrote:I didn't see them as jokes but just some funny, heartfelt moments. Re: The Help
See, I anticipated your hunger. The Oreos were from the goodies given out at the Half Marathon on the weekend.Beate wrote: Then Sunny Saver tried to force-feed me her oreos, LOL. I don't know why everyone thinks we like food!![]()
I always tear up in the scene in the dining-room with the masses of food. It also makes me hungry!
Good to see so many fmukers last night (didn't realised Celini and my mother had met before though)... Special huge thanks to ejwrank who gave me my own very special personalised goodie bag of Kettle Chips

I'm glad they gave out the Dermalogica goodie bags at the start, meant I didn't have to protest.
The film was excellent. I really enjoyed it. OH really enjoyed it and my mum enjoyed it the second time.
It was sad as well as funny. Shed a tear or two.
10/10 from me, 9/10 from mum, 'high 7' from OH (miserable git, I don't think he's ever given anything higher than an 8).

Re: The Help
You seem to have missed the point, the joke wasn't really about eating sh*t, it was about getting one over on the mean bully and after someone had treated you so poorly and you were so oppressed in general managing to get one over would be a huge deal and not something that would only be mentioned once.RioBravo wrote:Same to you.soonforgotten wrote:You must be a blast on a night out.![]()
Are you cracking jokes, again and again, and again, about eatin shit?

Yes. Could you find it in your heart to forgive me for being so inferior, low-brow and pedestrian?RioBravo wrote:Same to you.soonforgotten wrote:You must be a blast on a night out.![]()

Re: The Help
I see that you are very critical. Such a shame you feel this way. Do you mean the character was bad or Sissy Spacek played it bad? LOL. I see your points but it does not mean I agree with them. It is very obvious, you just did not like the film.RioBravo wrote:In a way it could be a film for me. Re: The Help
My prayers have been answered - the mail just arrived (I am home today as have a bad cold), and it's a big packet containing the book and a huge film poster plus several other books and CDs which, as this comes from UCB Media, is Christian literature and songs I will never ever touch.Beate wrote:I am kind of hoping the book is in the goody bag I won... the one they are sending me in the post.
