I have won 2 cinema tickets and need to use them by the end of december 2009. Are there any films worth seeing between now and December?

The biggest anticipated film to be released before end of December is going to be Avatar by James Cameron (director of Titanic, Aliens, Terminator, True Lies). Released on 19th December. Cameron is a great action film epic director but he hasn't made a film for over 10 years (Titanic was his last). But his track record has very few failures (personally, I dont think he has any) so I am betting this will be at the very least a good fun movie. I saw a 20 minute preview and it looked fairly promising. As it is a 3D film, some cinemas usually charge a couple quid more for tickets so your free tickets would make even better value for this particular movie.

If Avatar doesn't sound right for you though, Beate's suggestion Sherlock Holmes, sounds a fun option but it is released on Boxing day (26th Dec) which is cutting it close for using your free tickets.

If you are a Twilight fan, the 2nd film comes out on 20th November.

what is avatar? I have seen a lot of press about it but have never read a review of what the film is actually about.
