Paranormal activity

#1 Post by superhero » Wed Oct 21, 2009 11:03 am

Ah I really wanted to go and see this film! This is just getting ridiculous now, only 15 to 23s! and all those student screenings! I wonder how many people will still go get tickets for this screening and risk being IDed? Oh well hope they have more screenings of this film soon, it's been a big sleeper hit in the States.

Well I don't like scary movies and I have something else on Friday afternoon anyway but I agree that this should not be allowed. Isn't age discrimination illegal in this country? I understand students' screenings as they haven't got a lot of money but to roundly say you can only attend if you are a certain age is discrimination and I wonder what they would do if someone older turned up and said I will take you to court if you don't let me see this film? It's an SFF code anyway, what if someone just got the code forwarded without the age requirements?

Well I think they intended it more like a focus group session for the film. Thats why I agree with you, they probably shouldn't have put it out for a SFF code.
Funny they say, can you get out of the office early? Considering most of their target audience probably won't be in an office

Yep, quite irresponsible to tell anyone to sneak out of the office for a film, that's not really the message you should convey to young people!

Well, it's another week of skipping a very boring lecture that I've already got further on through hitting libraries, shame.

I hate horror and bet I'll seriously be freaked out, but it sounds like a good oportuinity, and was impressed with the trailer at Movie-Con, no big jump scare between the title and 'coming soon', didn't go for the generic tension, just the comic quotes building up and you starting to think, oh god oh god oh god, something bad's gonna happen.

End up sitting on the train on the way back home freaking out methinks.

I want to see this. Do you think they'll be more locations? when is it being released?

27th November according to imdb, think this is to work out how to advertise. In the US it opened wide last weekend and made about $19 million, and a lot of work was done on viral marketing, so they're probably working out how best to get the word out on the shores of Britain.

Well they probably do another code soon for people over 65, just to see their reactions....

the 3pm start will also mean that the 15-18 will still be in school / 6form could look highly suspicious if a few from the same school all skip early.
