I watched this last night, after mostly good reviews I decided i'd go and see it too. Now i sort of wish i hadn't. It was an ok film. Somewhat funny, slightly emotional, but didn't understand the need for Seth Rogen to swear so much.
The only 2 scenes i liked were
When Adam was in the doctors office with his parents, and he's talking with his mum at the side. The other being when Adam was with his therapist and he was being an angry idiot.
5/10, and i'm being generous.

I think it really has all been said on this one.
I thought all the main performances were good and very believable - I wish there had been more Angelica Huston though.
The film did have quite a few laugh out loud moments from us and I didn't look at my watch or wonder about the time once in the film which was a good sign - in fact from my pov it could have been a little longer.
It was made more meaningful to me because it was a true story - and to me it makes a change to have a film on this sensitive subject that has more laughs than tears despite the terrible situation.
7.5/10

Saw this yesterday with my sister.
We both enjoyed it very much - thought the movie had a great balance of funny moments along with some very 'real' scenes.
As we were walking out we heard one man tell his friends that he 'may have welled up at a couple of moments!' =)

Seen this in Cardiff Odeon which was about 60% full.
Both OH and myself were a little aprehensive at seeing this film but it was a gentle film not the usual over the top stuff from American producers. From the previous posts I agree that this would make an excellent play. It might have time to develop the characters more.

I thought the film was touching and definitely funny in places, with a good performace from Joseph Gordon-Levitt but Seth Rogen turns me off. He was so crude and juvenile as usual! I thought he might be different in this film as I know the story was inspired by his friend, (and kudos to him for exploring this subject) but maybe he's only able to deliver this particular brand of humour, which I don't find very funny. If you can get past that, then it's worth a see, but definitely not all it's hyped up to be.
