Jayman found the answer for me last night. Pete wasn't a real character and that's why they didn't give an update. http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... 20#p170722

Saw this last night. I really enjoyed the film but my 14 year old daughter hated it. She found it really boring. I wish I knew a bit more about the game of baseball as I think I would have enjoyed it even more. Would give it a 7/10.

Here's my Moneyball review: http://wp.me/p1LZHn-ah

It's really a shame this wasn't more exciting somehow. There's a lot I loved about this, but it's just not the most fun film to watch, despite all the positive aspects. Still, it's definitely recommended if one can get past all the baseballiness.

On a side note 0/10 for the back row of the screen and the stupid dickhead people who seem to sit back there.

Hoping sf is actually not including a_p and me in the "stupid dickhead people"
(for a clueless French, there is still too much baseballiness technicalities in your review :p )

No, of course not. Still not happy about her seating choice, though. *grumble*

But really? I thought I managed it okay enough. I think I'd have to strip all the baseball references out of it for some people. I'm not gonna say you in particular, but I do mean you in particular.

Saw this at a packed out Edinburgh last night.

I know diddly squat about baseball and my OH hates sports, yet we both really enjoyed this.

Well done, well written and well acted.

One of the best films I've seen lately.

9/10 from me.

I saw this on Monday and like most people mention above I am not a baseball fan and don't really know about the game. That said, it did not stop me from enjoying the film. I thought it was a good film, well acted and not necessarily a 'sports film' so even non-sporty people could actually enjoy and get into it.

Someone actually described it as a maths rather than full sports based film if that makes sense.

Anyway all round good film and worth a visit. Someone mentioned they would have liked to know what happened to one of the characters.... as it's based on true incidents, info on the players/characters should be available on google...

saw this with a voucher at a packed Westfield. I really enjoyed it especially as I used to follow Baseball years ago and the Oakland A's were my team. Anyway this isn't really about Baseball, more about the backroom part of it and the use of statistics to create a winning. Great performances all round, I didn't recognise PSH for ages 8O Brad Pitt really is coming into his own, not just a pretty face anymore, there's character there now.
A few niggles about the audience. A couple came in with 2 children who must have been a couple of years old. What were they thinking? children that age can't concentrate for 2 hours with a very talky film. They were pretty well behaved, there were the odd comments, 'its all dark' and 'I'm tired made me laugh, poor little things.
The guy next to me suddenly remembered his popcorn at the very exiting bit, where there was no sound on the screen, just him scrabbling round the box and chewing

8/10
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks
