Really enjoyed "An Education", very atmospheric and just think I was alive in 1961, o0h err! As I suspected wasn't asked for a Times+ Card (I don't have one) but was offered free popcorn, which I did decline! The cinema was definately populated by Times readers though, beardy, balding, comfy shoe brigade but then loads and loads of spare seats, hope Times change their minds again when they see the small uptake. Was anyone asked to show a Times+ Card?

And why should they? You come early, you get a good seat. You come late and disturb everyone, you take what's left in seats.

I found this film very enjoyable. The main actress (I can't remember her name) was very good and believable. There were some funny parts and I didn't once look at my watch. Great story.
It was also a nice bonus to have an hour extra in bed beforehand!

I really enjoyed it o/ , some funny bits and it did feel like the time it was set in. She seemed to fall for the lifestyle rather than the man though. And I did keep getting distracted once the idea popped in my head that with that hair style & colour that carey mulligan looks like katie holmes
I thought rosamund pike did a brilliant blank expression as helen at times (probably the funniest bits) I guess if helen weren't so dim we would have expected her to have warned jenny but as it was you could understnad how she didn't. I think the line about the civil service got the biggest laugh.

I also said to my husband I thought she looked like Katie Holmes!
Did anyone else notice that the house they stole the picture from was the vicar's house in Vicar of Dibley?!!!

We'll probably all agree though that Carey Mulligan is the better actress!

oh yes would love to have heard Katie try to do an english accent :p

but they'd be good casting if they're ever needed in a film for younger and older version, or two sisters. :)

Saw this yesterday, was a good film, not great, but managed to go by v. quickly, which was mainly due to the great acting performances, but other than that, it wasnt a mermorable film. I also felt the ending was rushed and could have been a lot better.
