Daybreakers
Daybreakers is a horror, action and adventure movie written and directed by Peter and Michael Spierig, stars: Ethan Hawke as Edward Dalton, Sam Neill as Charles Bromley, Willem Dafoe as Elvis, Claudia Karvan as Lucy, Vince Colosimo as Christopher and Isabel Lucas as Alison Bromley. The film is set to be released on January 08, 2009 by Lionsgate. In the movie, the year is 2019. A mysterious plague has swept over the earth, transforming the majority of the world’s population into vampires. Humans are now an endangered, second-class species – forced into hiding as they are hunted and farmed for vampire consumption to the brink of extinction. It’s all up to Edward Dalton, a vampire researcher who refuses to feed on human blood, to perfect a blood substitute that might sustain vampires and spare the few remaining humans.

Re: Daybreakers
Any chance you could find a film which isn't anything to do with horror, LOL?

Re: Daybreakers
Saw three brand new trailers tonight at Gateshead - guess what? Yes, all horrors, and I didn't like the look of any of them.
Re: Daybreakers
I saw this last night and enjoyed it. Certainly one of the better Vampire movies of late, at least there's no soppy high school romances.
Cinema was pretty full and most people seemed to enjoy it.
Cast list initally put me off as never been a big fan of Hawke, Neill or Dafoe and this won't change my mind on their ability but storyline was different and action was throughout.
All in all a decent film and made up for not being able to get to see Sex n Drugs etc on Wednesday. 7/10

Re: Daybreakers
Saw it last night, the climax is more gory than the brides battle with the crazy 88 in Kill Bill. I'm only saying this because the rest of the movie doesn't even hint at the level of gore to come.

Re: Daybreakers
Just seen this tonight in Cardiff. Glad it was with the 241 offer by myvue - thanks to Beate for the info. Only 4 people in the total audience and had checked the signing sheet for the offer - the other 2 had a 241 offer as well.
Other half said it was better than the girlie stuff I take him too - meaning julie and Julia and Mama Mia.
Did enjoy it - as said, a bit gory at the end but not a romance in sight!! 7/10
