I'm definitely out of ideas to find a job/internship... and if I don't find one before the end of January I'll have to repeat my year. Again... (see previous page)

If you have any pieces of advice, please, PLEASE, let me know, help me, comfort me, whatever.
I'm in a deadlock and I can't stand doing nothing anymore. I'm looking for a position in event management / PR / marketing in music, cinema, well actually any kind of arts considering the situation.... not a role where I'll do copies and manage social networks, a REAL project.

Anyway, I know there are nice people in this forum... I just hope a few of you work in entertainment :/

Aww, sounds great, but I already know my teachers won't allow me to do this, because... 'fashion is not art'. And 'literature is not art, it's commercial'.
Don't even bother explaining them that, yes, fashion is art, literature is a market, as are all kind of arts.... it's nonsense.
I need to find a position in a festival, or a venue that offers a wide range of arts, for all kind of public. If it's a work with a specific audience (teenagers, prisonners, old people) it can be a bonus. I need to be a key team member as well as analyzing the functioning of a venue and the area/similar venues, as I'll have to write a dissertation and make an oral presentation.

I'm scared, cause there's a gap between what I really want to do/what I CAN find in London and what the teachers are expecting. I just want to do this internship and stop university.

SO I'm gonna be more specific: I am looking for an internship in:
- music/visual arts/performance arts festivals such as ATP, Oxfam, Reading etc, in marketing/PR and production
- distributors/producers such as Paramount, Warner Bros etc, in event management and publicity (dream job, but it's already a bit far from the university's requirements)
- venues such as BArbican, BFI, Southban Centre, in project management

Good luck to myself.

See above...
Yet, if you're looking for hospitality assistant on events during December/January... that's probably the only kind of job I can do for the moment, I don't want to commit to something as I'll have to start an internship by February anyway.

Aaarf, unfortunately, no can do.
I can't do social medias/communication stuff as it's not a Master level, it won't bring me anything (well it could, but I did that lots of time already). To complete my Master - and please my teachers - I have to be part of a project, to move my ass and analyse a venue/festival/etc.
Umm and actually, even if I start to look at the unpaid internships adds... here it's unpaid + bring your own later : already done, and it didn't bring me good experiences... just a broken laptop.

But thank you for helping!! I don't know if you saw my post by chance ou remembered it, but it's really nice to post this :D

(btw dudes, I'm still looking for an internship, I'm waiting for two answers that will probably NEVER arrive, but I have like two weeks left now to find something HAHAHAHOHOHOHOHOHOHHUM.)

have you not asked them to help you find the internship? if they are so insistent that you do one they should help you and put you forward to their contacts.

dunno if this helps but an old friend worked here: http://www.redbeemedia.com/

i don't know if they do internships but just thought i'd jot down the website for you. internships go very quickly, months and months in advance and there are often waiting lists - which is why, really,i think that your collage should be helping you.
