Re: The Voice
I just Wiki-ed the show, apparently it started in the Netherlands (which would explain why we've had it longer)!

Re: The Voice
2010
I've only seen a handful of episodes but I did know we've had two season so far (and a season of The Voice Kids)

Re: The Voice
Ah ok. Well that does mean most of season 1 was in 2010
And yeah, Big Brother, Idol, etc all started in the Netherlands.
Currently catching up on The Voice UK on iPlayer that's a lot of attention for the judges at the start there (I couldn't care less for them...)

Re: The Voice
I'm loving how positive this show is so far but yeh gods I keep wanting the audience to shut up so we can hear the participants better.

Re: The Voice
Idol started in the Netherlands too??
Only thing I find odd with the Voice is how they are pushing already "established" artists, one performed with RoA, another is an internet sensation, his videos have had 2 million clicks. Don't they have Joe Bloggs from nowhere walking in?

Re: The Voice
Ah no I think I'm wrong, it was Starmaker that was before Idols, the same concept but for a band.
I agree that it's not really fair, but I guess they're not going to be turning these already (slightly) known people away as it means they can either attract an audience advertising they appear in the show and/or these participants are good enough to go through to the next round
