The Cabin in the Woods
Re: The Cabin in the Woods
Saw this last night in Edinburgh. I quite enjoyed it. A few bits reminded me of Angel and Buffy (including 2 actors from these show's) and agree there a few few bits from other movies but it was all packaged together pretty well. My partner had her head buried for most of it but she hates these type's of movie anyway. A good 7/10

Saw this last night at West India Quay to a packed screening.
Really enjoyed it. Put a different spin on the horror genre and p*ying homage to teen slasher pics, japanese horror and to Evil Dead. Great acting and a very Joss Whedon film. The film started as a teen horror turning into a big brother horror and finally a gore fest.

Re: The Cabin in the Woods
Saw this last night but can't sat I enjoyed it much. I thought it started off well and showed a lot of potential. I quickly realised this was not an ordinary horror and when the bird was 'zapped' early on I wondered if maybe there was a Matrix thing going on. Sadly it didn't live up to its promises - from about 1/2 way descended into a monster gore-fest, and from 3/4 through to nothing short of comedy it was so far-fetched! My companion's 1st words when it ended were "What a load of s---e"
Positive side: at least we didn't p*y for it.

Re: The Cabin in the Woods
Edinburgh was packed last night.
Bizarre this was made in 2009 and only just released. Chris Hemsworth did look really young.
It was OK but could have been soooooooooooooooooooooo much better with a bit of time, thought and effort!
6/10 from me.

Re: The Cabin in the Woods
Saw this in Glasgow. We had a couple of walk outs about 20 minutes into the film. Personally it wasn't as witty as I thought it could be being a Joss Whedon write up. However it was one thing, then another and then another. No cheers for the cameo. Bizarre, weird but very interesting. 6/10

Re: The Cabin in the Woods
Saw in Showcase at Paisley. About 80% full which is unusual as previews are usually mobbed.
What can I say . . . . seen worse, seen better.
This genre (whatever it was meant to be???) is not my usual choice/favourite. I was intrigued at the start of the film but that disappeared as the attacks and blood appeared. I must admit I did find it so outrageous that it was almost funny! On the other hand, I did wonder that I felt so desensitized to the characters and their fate that I thought it must be how a player of a video game must feel . . . . not connected to anything real! Would I watch again? . . . easily a "NO!"

Re: The Cabin in the Woods
I also found it quite Weird but interesting.
It's not the sort of thing i would normally go and see but it's nice
to go and see something a little different now and again
