Holiday Thread
Re: Holiday Thread
Well, I had a nice little holiday planned 2 weeks ago to go back home for my best friends wedding, but had to reschedule due to a UKBA passport processing delay. It's now been 2 months that they've had my passport and I still don't have any indication whatsoever as to when it's going to be returned back to me. If there's anybody else on this forum who's planning on extending their Tier 1 visas, p*y no attention to the guidelines. It is NOT a 6 week affair. Most recent estimates place it somewhere along 3-4 months...if you're lucky.
Anyway, I rescheduled my flights for Wintery June only having to p*y a rather "modest" penalty of £250.
If my passport doesn't arrive by then, God help me I may just go postal.

Re: Holiday Thread
Wonder why it's taking so long. So much red tape !!perhaps they are still considering your case and until your tier one has been approved they are keeping it (unless emergency)Jayman wrote:Well, I had a nice little holiday planned 2 weeks ago to go back home for my best friends wedding, but had to reschedule due to a UKBA passport processing delay. Re: Holiday Thread
Nope, it's the normal procedure nowadays. It used to be 1 month, then 6 weeks and now thanks to a mandatory requirement for biometrics which you need to capture midway through your application, the minimum processing time is 2 months and a bit.
It's effing bullshit that's what it is.
This is a good website to keep track of one's application via other applicants: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... &start=920

Re: Holiday Thread
consider yourself lucky that yours is "just" a renewal and not a new application!
I know few people who waited too long to apply and they got screwed when they "closed" the highly skilled Tier 1 programme!

Re: Holiday Thread
Oh believe me, I do!! Shortly after I applied, they ramped up the prerequisites to the extent of an applicant requiring a PhD as part of his/her qualifications.

Re: Holiday Thread
well, I believe this has been scrapped last year (or 2 years ago?), and with a PhD you have to apply for Tier 2 now!
(the people I am talking about are PhD+ )
