Yikes! This would be my worst nightmare! I already get abuse for asking (POLITELY!) for them to switch off their phone. I hate the bright light in the darkness . . . it is sooo distracting. Phone should only be one for a matter of Life or Death!
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

Films already booked for:

Hope to get tickets for: Every film if they come to my preferred cinemas

A Matter of Life and Death? Is that the one with David Niven?

OMG! Allowing texting? Eeeek!
There's avid discussion regarding Tweet seats in theatres too, which can add to the buzz of a show and be great marketing. I think it's only justified if these Tweet seats are well away from the rest of the audience as to not disturb the performance. They could have "text seats" in cinemas, but again they should not disturb anyone else so should be well apart.

Special text or Tweet screenings could work. Or what about cubicle type seats towards the sides that shield off the light from fellow audience members?

The Cineworld in Castleford has booths above and behind the main seating which cost more. I suggest these booths are the best place for texters as they are completely out of sight of everyone else and you p*y a premium to be there. Punish their pockets!

No this really should not be accommodated in any way. Otherwise we'll have an area where people are allowed to chat/an area where you can use your phone/an area where you can eat noisily/ad nauseum. The point of seeing a film is to see the film. You can text later/talk later. If people can't live for a short while 'out of contact' then I respectfully ask them not to go to the cinema. (On second thought-- I don't ask respectfully-- I would tell them emphatically not to go to the cinema.)
