We have a few complimentary tickets to see The Adventurers Club at the Southbank - Tiernan Douieb’s show for Children
Tiernan Douieb is a stand-up comedian whose Edinburgh Fringe debut, 28 Years Later, is about adulthood, childish imaginings and zombies. Here, Tieran lays out five good – highly amusing - reasons why you shouldn’t miss his one-man offering at the Underbelly.

Happy Soul Festival 2012

#796 Post by cliveas » Sun May 06, 2012 6:30 pm

Normal?
Written, directed and choreographed by Ann Akin.

In collaboration with Vintage Star Productions, Normal? comes to Happy Soul Festival 2012. This is a story about mental illness told through the lives of two adopted sisters, Ray and Ash. Ash suffers from mental health problems and lives with her younger sister Ray. The play explores not only mental health, but also a deeply loving and at times painfully difficult sibling relationship. Within the piece you witness the emotional struggle that they both face when dealing with mental health and the personal journey they go on to find a sense of normality.

Starring Ann Akin and Catherine Ashton. Music by Helen Bee.
Theatrical play followed by an interactive Q&A and a Happy Soul Festival volunteer closing presentation ceremony.
Lost Theatre, Sunday 10 June, 7.30pm – 9.30pm

This is part of the Happy Soul Festival 2012 which includes other live performances such as poetry & music in the London Boroughs of Brent, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth. All events are FREE but need to be booked.

school for wives

Moliere’s battle of the sexes comedy follows Arnolphe’s bungled attempts to cultivate a faithful wife out of his young ward, Agnes. Lecherous and middle-aged, Arnolphe is convinced that, to avoid cuckoldry, a man must keep his wife ignorant of the ways of the world. Having been raised in a convent and versed only in the Bible and the Maxims of Marriage, Agnes should be his perfect match.

In Ranjit Bolt’s modern adaptation of The School for Wives, the path of true love does not always run smoothly… as Arnolphe must learn the hard way.

Presented by LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art).

This is an amateur production by arrangement with Curtis Brown Group Ltd

one turbulent ambassador

One Turbulent Ambassador follows the career of Craig Murray on his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2001.
Murray’s proximity to post 9/11 Iraq forces him into a political minefield that neither he nor the Foreign Office could have envisaged. When he walks into a bar in Tashkent late one Monday night and sees a beautiful belly dancer arching her limbs, his personal life threatens to become as turbulent as the political landscape around him.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see the world premiere of LAMDA’s latest collaboration with Robin Soans (writer of The Arab Israeli Cookbook and Talking to Terrorists). His first play for the Academy, Mixed Up North, premiered at LAMDA in 2008 and went on to tour nationally as an Out of Joint and Octagon Theatre Bolton production.
Presented by LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art).
