Billy no mates - Manchester

#1 Post by r33ceh » Fri May 11, 2012 3:20 am

This is an appeal on behalf of the "i have no friends" charity.

The other day i had tickets to a cinema showing and my sitter let me down, meaning my OH
couldnt come. i didnt want to go on my own, as i felt i would look like a loner, and none
of my friends could go at short notice. so i ended up not going.

Just wondered if in future anyone would be interested in my +1's so i dont have to miss out.
got to be male, preferably same age-ish (30+) and i only tend to go to, manchester printworks,
didsbury, ashton + bellvue.

PS this is not a dating advert -so no strange stalkerish replies - and i dont wish
to know if you have a GSOH and like long walks in the country (it aint happening ok) 8O

That is so funny as that's just what I'm like :giggle: but seriously though don't miss out as akh43, steve, Betty Botter, yogi and his OH and myself go to most of the screenings and although yogi is the only one that fits that description we would love to meet you and sit with us as we're very friendly o/

Afraid I am not 30ish so therefore do not fit within your target group. I have never asked the age of the other members of our group (AK, Diane Betty, Yogi and his OH) but as four of them are female they also wouldn't meet your requirements, (although I am sure they are all within the right age group), It's a shame you have to be so picky as we have great fun when we meet up. Maybe this is why you have posted with the above heading.

hes probably meaning he doesnt want to look like hes your parent lol.

i cut off at 18ish nowadays if I am going in just a pair. I have nothing aginast mature 16 year olds, I was one once, but would dread going with anyone so young, and some people can get the wrong idea.

Sorry i have edited my post - raj was right - what i meant was i dont really want to
be going with people too much younger than myself, more for their sake really,
as i would probably bore them with my conversation (and people can get the wrong idea)
But steve i would very much like to meet up with you guys /gals - sorry if i sounded picky

I am over the 30ish and the other week took one of my best mates' daughters to a showing. She's only 16 but a smashing girl, I really don't care what other people think so long as I am happy with the company I keep.

yey well i dont care what they think either but my career is directly based on public eye and trust, and its too easy for some vindictive knobhead to spread shite these days.

I'd be ok going with Wierdfilms who is 15 I think, but looks and acts mature, but turning up with 14 year old Miss Heeheehee who is clearly not related to me is just not on.

I'd never realised I was doing other people a favour by going to films on my own (which regulars know I happily do); this thread puts that habit in an interesting new light! And if some people are concerned about looking like the parent of their companions, presumably I'd look like a grandparent...

I hope you are refering to the walks in the country and not the mankini!! :D

I agree with Diane65, it's been great meeting her and akh43, steve, and Betty Botter and you will always see at least one of us at a screening, but I defintely wouldn't let the lack of a +1 stop me seeing something I wanted to see.

In fact I will be sat happily on my own watching Jerry Seinfeld at the Arena on Saturday, as no one else really fancied going.
