Jubilee
What's everyone doing to celebrate the Jubilee?
Organising/going to a street party? Jubilee concert? Watching the flotilla on the Thames? Going to the Jubilee festival in Hyde Park?

Re: Jubilee
Our road is going to be completely blocked off so I reckon it's best to watch it on the TV then try and catch a glimpse of the Queen from the balcony when the boats go past on the way out at Greenwich/Isle of Dogs.

Aww..that's nice. At least you can see the flotilla from your windows. I see some venues are charging a fortune for their Jubilee Flotilla parties.

Re: Jubilee
I have actually no idea yet what's going on for it... My family in the Netherlands keep asking me what I'm going to do for it apparently it's all over the news there) and I don't want to miss out on something good. Any event recommendations?

Re: Jubilee
There's apparently going to be a table for 800 at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich but I don't like masses of people so I am going to stay north of the river.

Re: Jubilee
They are doing something similar at Piccadilly Circus, but you have to bring your own food and donate £1.

Re: Jubilee
I was under the impression that Jubilee Lunches were things specific streets organised, oops... Thanks guys!
Greenwich is not too far from me and I love wandering around there if it's a nice day.

You needed to book a seat online and make a donation but seats are all gone, but the street party is still open to everyone. http://www.piccadillybigjubileelunch.org/superhero wrote:They are doing something similar at Piccadilly Circus, but you have to bring your own food and donate £1.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!
Re: Jubilee
As with Xmas (and this year, the Olympics - what a bad year for people who don't like fuss and bother!), I am going to try to avoid this until it's over. But I emphasise that this is my personal opinion as I know some people here are keen on, and involved in one or both, which is great if it's their thing.
