I will try and write more if I have time, but went to see The Crow the other night - http://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/?lid=69953
1/10 - they really shouldn't have used from the puppet makers of War Horse to sell this, it was hard to spot the puppets from the back and Ted Hughes poem are just bizarre, well at least when it's staged like this. I counted almost 15 people walked out, as bad as it may be, it was mighty brave of them to walk out as the exit was at the front of the stage in front of the actors. One woman had the loudest noisiest pair of heels and she walked from the back of the theatre at the top all the way down, completely destroyed the atmosphere...

I went to see 66 minutes in Damascus tonight - http://www.richmix.org.uk/whats-on/even ... -damascus/
A visceral tour de force performance. As real as it comes, I don't want to say too much and spoil it for other people going, but it was that real, we got stopped by an ACTUAL police car, as they wanted to check that we were "okay". I still can't believe the police interrupted the play!!
Also I liked it because it wasn't a preachy political play, but asked the audience to think and understand the complexities of the situation. 10/10

Felt like a bit of an idiot last night. Headed out to see "The Final Test" which I thought was at the Royal Theatre, Haymarket, London. The staff there had no idea what I was talking about, then it turned out I was supposed to be at 'The Theatre', Haymarket, HAMPSHIRE.

I'm really sorry, but I laughed when I read this because you could have had company, ie me. It's lucky I wasn't there with you or else I would have argued with the box office and made myself look a right t*t.

lbaxx booked me tickets then said 'No, I got to cancel them because it's in Hampshire!'.

:giggle:

You're not the only one who made that mistake, luckily I noticed on the ticket that it said "Hampshire".

I did put the full address in after I noticed it on the ticket which I was forwarding to sunny saver. It did not state on the email that it was in Hampshire.

Did anyone else see "Born In The Gardens" at the Ashcroft Theatre in Croydon last night? Thanks to pcrock kindly posting the code, I was able to enjoy this and I was all the more pleased as although I like Peter Nichols' work, I'd never seen this particular play; also, the tour had visited another venue local to me but for one day only, in April, and I couldn't fit it in.

Quite a respectable attendance but a shame it wasn't larger. When I went to collect my single ticket, the Box Office lady didn't even check my printout but asked "How many tickets do you want?" and was reeling off absolutely reams of them!
