As everyone says, the cinema screen they put us in was fantastic! We don't normally get the fancy screens for our previews but I hope they give that to us more often. Got there about 10.45am and managed to get some well placed seats in the upper section. It is not the biggest screen I've been in though. The one at the Vue in Greenwich is pretty spectacular. My only complaint with screen 1 at the Empire is that the seats didn't have any cupholders!
So glad I got out of bed to see this on a Sunday morning. It is the kind of film I enjoy (if that is the right word) and frankly I'll watch anything with Jake Gyllenhaal. I thought Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire were also very good.
I have to say that I wasn't totally fulfilled with the ending but I'm not sure what else I was expecting to happen - Perhaps Beate's suggestion of an alternative version where we do not find out until the end would have been better but I think the way it did play out also kept the tension and drama going. I just thought it would all come out in a more explosive way. I found the eldest daughter particularly annoying.
Definitely worth watching - 8.5/10.

Re: Brothers
Wow, what a great cinema to watch this in. The film was emotional and tense with lighter touches provided by the two little girls, about the realities of war. The actors were all very good, Toby, Jake, Natalie Portman, and the two little girls (especially the older daughter, Bailee Madison, a name to watch out for), as well as being really cute. A tearjerker - the lady next to me was crying her eyes out. Both my friend and I really enjoyed this film, and left us discussing the decision that Toby's character took, the war, etc. - 9/10

I was sat near the end of a row of seats...back tier, middle section. I'm sure I saw others taking photos too....wasn't just me was it?!
!
I'd give this film a score of 8.5

Re: Brothers
Absolutely devastingly moving, the best clear-out my sinuses have had in ages.
As others have said, the touches of humour make what might otherwise have been melodrama all the more moving.
Beautifully acted, although a touch predictible and the ending not quite as convincing as the build up, but I'd give it 9 for the most emotionally gripping film I've seen for a long time.
