Greenwich PH have decided to bring back the 2D screenings for this so OH and I saw this Saturday afternoon at 3pm which proved to be a good decision as we escaped the heat but did not have too many people in the screening room doing the same. In fact there were under 20 people in there, and quite a few of them kids. Thankfully they sat further forward and did not prove much of a problem although I can't understand why you would bring young kids to this - it's too long, loud and violent for them I would have thought.

Ok, so I've seen it now. I am afraid to say I can't quite understand the hype. Yes, it's good, but it's not super-human semi-God good. It's way too long and drags terribly in the beginning. It takes far too long to get the Avengers together (Thor doesn't even turn up until 45 minutes in) and then they squabble endlessly with each other. There are several illogical things like how Thor, who at the end of his adventure film was prevented to ever returning to Earth - er, returned to Earth. And the Hulk's anger management issues and how he dealt with them made no sense at all. Only the final third of the film really kicked ass and was the *CRASH* *BANG* *WALLOP* stuff I've come to see, with our heroes and their enemies basically obliterating Manhattan, Thor getting swiped into a building by Hulk, Loki getting bashed about by Hulk ("puny God") and Iron Man getting roared back to life by... Hulk. Is there a theme here? The best lines went to Iron Man ("Phil? No, his first name is Agent!" and "Shakespeare in the Park?"), but it was strange how he was never called his action name but was Stark throughout. The same was true for Hulk who was always just Dr Banner. As for the lovely Agent Coulson, one can only hope.

I think these kind of films work better when they concentrate on one superhero. I loved Iron Man and even Thor and Captain America weren't bad. I would have watched them again this weekend if my stupid Sky Go wasn't playing up with no idea how to fix it!

I actually saw this again as a double bill with Jaws. I enjoyed it even more than first time around! I really didnt expect that as I thought I will start to see its glaring flaws but the opposite happened. I loved it more. This really is a superb achievement.

Nice one! Think I might catch this again and see how the 2D version compares to 3D...

I saw this movie about a month ago in 3D. It was a pretty good film, although I expected it to be better. I didn't really see the point in Hawkeye being there, but thought the others did well in the film. I did find some of the parts a bit cheesy like when the Hulk was throwing Loki around on the floor. As well, it was a bit predictable, as it was obvious that the heroes were going to win. As well, thought the 3D could have been done better and was average. But all in all, it was a good film, i'd like to see War Machine and She-Hulk in the next one. I'd give it a 3.5/5!
