Re: Mamma Mia at the O2
Wow you got free drinks and Free British Music Experience! Missed all that but would have gladly exchanged it for some simple bottle tops! We were also rushing to get home. I wasn't sitting in the lower tier but in one of the front rows of the upper tier, which was brilliant. Everyone around us was singing along. People were noisy, took pictures, waved light thingies around or went to the loo all the time (and did anyone see those white cowboy hats they were selling, LOL), but it was bearable due to my ear plugs, and it kind of added to the atmosphere.

The British Music Experience seem to do offers whenever there is something big going on...I remember when I went to see a gig there, they had the same offer if you showed them the gig tickets...so maybe if you go again to the o2 for something you can check it out

Yes it pays to be a straggler sometimes! We took our time to leave our seats and they announced the British Music Experience offer about 10-15 minutes after the film finished. We thought we'd go straight to that. There was a bit of a queue of other like minded people but not that many considering (maybe 100 people).
I wonder if they made the announcement to get people out of the arena so they could clear up and prepare for the evening screening. I can understand how people could have missed it. I only remember it being announced that once.
Jpeg is right about the BME offers. They seem to be coming in thick and fast now. I remember when it first opened, I was so keen to go and I couldn't find any deals (not even half price!). So glad I waited because now I have been twice (one today and once through the Sky customer offer). I think the visitors must be drying up for them. Did anyone go to the Michael Jackson Experience Day on Friday? They were also giving out BME tickets then too!
I don't think I can count Mamma Mia on my free films tally because of the ticketmaster fee but I'll still give my rating. I guess I would give the film 7.5/10 now (previously it was a lowly 5). I appreciated it much more.

Re: Mamma Mia at the O2
I b*ght (shock horror) four tickets to this before Christmas, and so including all the Ticketmaster fees it came to a cool 100 pounds.
You can imagine that I nearly choked on my chips when I saw that Sky were giving away free tickets, and then SFF put loads up as well. I was nervous that this would mean the arena would be empty.
Still, I have to console myself by knowing that our Mums were thrilled to have this as an extra Christmas present, and it was also a sort of post-wedding girlie treat and we had all been looking forward to it for a month.
It may also mean that organisers may think twice in the future about the cost of tickets, because a lot of people obviously put their foot down about p*ying so much to go to a cinema showing as they couldn't fill it without giving tickets away.
Luckily, we'd seen an email about our tickets giving us entry to the BME, so we went there first and got more out of the day. I'm glad I didn't p*y to see the BME, as although I'd been dying to go for ages, I didn't think it was all that good.
The film was great of course (this was the third time I'd seen it), and it was good to have the kareoke lyrics on the screen. It was a bit weird needing to turn my head to the left for the duration of the film though. It was fun right at the end when the credits came on and everyone got up to dance and sing, but apart from the efforts of some intrepid dancing queens, there wasn't that much of a dance-fest going on.
Hey ho.

Re: Mamma Mia at the O2
I went to see this in the afternoon, I loved it even though I've seen it loads of times before!! I sat quite near the front on the flat bit, got a bit of a crick in my neck, but really enjoyed it
