I thought it was brilliant too. 10/10

Slightly distracted during the birthday party when he wanted to sit next to the red-head lawyer from Spiral who was sitting next to a man who plays another character in Spiral (prosecutor or laywer?) to move along, it took me out of the film to recognise them from other places.

Also worried about Hollywood doing a remake where they'll make way to over-sentimental and probably change the plot to have them have some big misunderstanding & falling out before reuniting because that is the general formula to Hollywood versions.

enjoyed this, but reading some of the reviews, you might go in with overly high expectations.

acting was good, but nothing better. had this been in english, actor portraying phillippe would have been (rightly) accussed of fishing for an oscar. as for the driss role, if it is possible to do ¨charisma by the numbers¨, then he did it.

but be honest, this is a story that has been told many, many times before. ¨mrs brown¨ springs to mind.

so, nothing special, but pleasant enough. 6/10. (better than TDKR).

Best film of the year so far with Marigold Hotel . Loved it. If you dont have tickets for the two other screenings would try for them.

Was at Wester Hailes tonight and like Alythonian have not heard so many folks saying 'that really was excellent' or 'great film' for a long time.

Perfect casting, humour, and for the first time in ages you could have heard a pin drop, no rustling of papers or folks ching their phones, everyone was hooked on the film.

Huge thank you to my ticket fairy!!

Can only agree with all the praise ... best film in a looong time.

Great cast, wonderful blend of human story and wicked humour. And a true story, too! Excellent choice of music. It was definitely worth the wait - my sister had seen it on the continent about a year ago and raved about it. Unlike other times when the wait and other people's praise makes expectations grow too huge this time I was not dissapointed.

Whether with Colin Firth or American or both ... can someone please tell them not to remake it. Pleeeeeeeese! I will NOT work! Why can't they just leave it as it is? Can people really not be bothered to read?

So many glowing reviews. That can mean only one thing - it's time for someone brave to bring down the average

As mentioned before, I thought this was extremely cheesy. But hey guess what - I'm not lactose intolerant! I happen to love cheese! And if it's well-made cheese, I make sure to enjoy every savory minute of it. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this. It's not Oscar award winning material and it's certainly nothing new or original, but it is a fantastic treat with all round likeable performances. The kind of movie that would leave even the most stone-hearted out there with a smile on their face. Yes, even you Theresa May.

Also, it's worth reiterating, Omar Sy has a fantastic career ahead of him especially if his English isn't too shabby.

Saw this at a very busy Liverpool 1 tonight with my DD and her BF. I was a bit suprised to find it was subtitled, having not looked into this film much before going to see it. I needn't of worried though as I found that they did not distract from the on screen action.

This film is brilliant and we absolutely loved it. I can see why it has taken most of Europe by storm. It is extremely well acted, especially by the two males leads who play Phillipe and Driss. The rapport between them is so humourous and yet at times touching. I found myself getting really involved in their story, it was especially nice to see that this film was based on a true story. Lots of laughter in the cinema along with several 'aahh' moments.

This has got to be the best film I have seen this year and possibly for some time.

Saw film in Braehead which was not even half full . . . people possibly put off by subtitles or other screenings available.
What an engaging film made all the better by the fact it's based on a true story!
The chemistry of the 2 main characters was great. François Cluzet (Philippe) and Omar Sy (Driss) make a great pairing. The verbal exchanges peppered with wicked humour was very entertaining. I loved Driss' reaction to Vivaldi's 4 Seasons "I know that one . . . that's the Benefit Office", obviously referring to "tune while you wait".
The film is almost 2 hours long but time passes very quickly.
A gem of a film which I would happily have pa*d for and would happily watch again!
