I too have a Nokia lumia. Have one since they came out as Nokia were giving them away for free so blagged one. Not sure what you mean by its not compatible with some websites including this one. I never had any bother. Yes there are things which are compatible withwindows and only serving android or iOS. One big negative point about it is battery life and having to charge it every day so it is always set to battery saver mode.
Maybe mine is faulty? But when I compare it to my beloved HTC Desire, it fails badly in many instances.
I can't always copy and paste. I had to ask someone to post a Sky code yesterday because I wasn't able to.
I have a problem with cookies. Although phone is set to accept them it patently doesn't. Hence although I can scroll on SFF I can't book tickets as it doesn't remember the pin.
The worst thing is that it automatically synchs when it wants to and sometimes several times a day. I have a lot of email but it seems to synch every email in existence and takes hours. Fine when I'm at home and it's on charge. Not so fine when within an hour of leaving home it does it all again. Flattening battery and leaving me without access to email or unreachable. If I turn phone off I miss codes, texts and calls. None of which is ideal.
It hasn't synched for two days, what's the betting it does when I leave home at lunchtime!

No problems with copying and pasting for me. As for synching I suggest you do what I do and put it to battery saver whenever its not charging. That should stop it synching.

putting it to battery saver doesn't prevent synchronization and if I do that, I miss codes.

I don't think a windows phone is different from any other OS; you can set up the synchronisation thingie to never synchronise/synchronise manually/ synchronise every so many minutes, hours,,,

In my original post I was actually referring to the highly specced Nokia Lumia 920 which is due for release only in November.

As awesome as it seems, it's already a victim of 2 separate scandals:
1) The ad showcasing it's video capabilities was actually filmed with a different camera and
2) the photos aren't legit either.

Their "comeback" is not off to a great start.

@Jay, I find the camera quite poor indoor on my Sensation, especially if I compare to the equivalent Iphone 4S; this is why I am not quite sure I'll go for the X.
What exactly had you decided to go for X over S3?

Honestly, I got the One X before the S3 had even been released and my incentive was a 1 year Phones4U upgrade contract at £41 p/m.
It was too good a deal to ignore. Had I waited and if there had been a similar deal for the S3, I probably would have gone for the S3.

As far as the camera goes, it's great! But I still use my SLR or Lumix for capturing real shots.

Maybe this comparison will make it easier for you to decide?

I've got quite good cameras myself, but I'd like to be able to get decent indoor shots on the go.

I read dozen of reviews, and still can't make my mind :D
(I don't do contracts; I b*y my phones and go giffgaff, so I may wait a little for the prices to get slightly less indecent)

Lol...well, as much as I love the HTC One X and as much as I will continually sing its praise, the company isn't doing so well financially. Samsung has built up quite a monopoly on the Android market so you can't be certain of HTC's future nor their ongoing level of support. I do think the One X is a better phone than the S3 and it has a fantastic camera but hey, the majority has spoken and if you're going to b*y something with a definite future, the S3 would be it. The one thing the S3 has which easily trumps the HTC is a far better battery. For most people that makes it the clear winner.
