Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Dustin last night and Dame Judi amongst others at What You Will tonight. In fact an actor with one of a number of faces that I recognised tonight but couldn't put a name to (not as famous as Hoffman or Dench) spoke to me at one point. I didn't like to ask him to remind me who he was!
Btw do they usually have the red carpet at press nights? I've been to them before and don't remember it, but then as you have probably gathered my memory is not all that it could be!

Gutted I could not go, as it is same night as the Paralympics Closing Ceremony, but sent the details to a Leonard Cohen fan and she was estactic that she got tickets! The last time she went to his concert was in the early eighties at the Albert Hall and he only had his guitar to accompany himself. It was an eye opener to hear his songs being backed up by several very good musicians, one of them played a 12 string guitar! For her, it will go down as one of her more memorable evenings, nostalgic recollections, both beautiful and bitter.asamaic wrote:Thought about going, but Wembley Arena is a bit awkward for us to get to. Managed to book some tickets for a friend though (in his name), who is ecstatic. Hope it's a good night. :)canadian_turtle wrote:If it was any other night I would've loved to go!Beate wrote:Anyone going to Leonard Cohen tonight? There are still tickets available to book!
I saw yesterday that SFF also had tickets to The Killers tomorrow, but when I checked the code all tickets were already gone. Does anyone know if this is all part of the same festival/line-up? If so, it might be worth looking into what other artists may come up this week.
Didn't see anything about tickets for The Killers, I assume that was a VIP code.

It was indeed a fantastic night. The Webb Sisters were among those excellent musicians and I was lucky enough to see them a bit ago through SFF as well. I had become a fan seeing them back Leonard Cohen on previous televised concerts but seeing my musical hero himself live is one off my bucket list. The danger with these sort of things is that they won't live up to the high expectation. This was not one of those cases; a night of glorious music, humility from LC and numerous deserved standing ovations.prettyxcool wrote:Gutted I could not go, as it is same night as the Paralympics Closing Ceremony, but sent the details to a Leonard Cohen fan and she was estactic that she got tickets! Anyone else see The Man On Her Mind tonight?
I liked the venue, I used to live near a train station, so the sound of the tube rumbling every so often didn't bother me. The stalls go back quite far, but there aren't any pillars to the sides, so no restricted views, which is nice.
Enjoyed the play, but I think a few people left in the interval because they genuinely thought that was the end of it!

I have to agree, her acting did not convince me, either!cliveas wrote: Don't worry - I thought Sheridan Smith was a man!
I saw Hedda last night and enjoyed it, but I'm afraid that I wasn't convinced by her acting. I loved her dresses though! and I thought all the supporting cast were very good however, as was the staging.

Woah seriously? I don't see any information about this anywhere.
