I will need to check the name of the company I use for my son's phone. I don't bother for my own 'cause I don't really care which phone I use and loss is covered under my house insurance.
On the other hand, I've had to claim on phone insurance twice for son.
In May, he got a new Blackberry as the screen on his had stopped working . . . absolutely no hassle in getting a new handset within a few days (handset was over 18 months old at the time). No excess, I'm sure.
Personally, given that insurance is under £5 per month and covers handset(often worth a few hundred pounds) and misuse, if stolen, I am happy to p*y insurance for 1 phone. If you are interested in name of company, let me know and I will look out policy.

Odd question; I have been battling with this for quite some times and still have no idea what to do!
I created a (offline) webpage that I can open from my PCs and Macs after saving said webpage and associated files locally...
My question is how do you do that on your favourite Android phone? I have no idea how/where to save locally multiple files and be able to open them as a webpage on my HTC... (One X as of now *wink* *Jay*)

Yay! Now we can be HTC buddies ;)

As for your query, do you mean save a page locally from your phone? If that's the case this might help?

If you mean where to place the files which you've already transferred from your PC onto your phone then I guess it doesn't really matter. You could just browse to the location of the files using a generic Android File Manager and then open them up directly within the app. Astro used to be my preferred option up until their last update. I'm now using 'File Manager' from Rhythm Software. Give it a go?

If you want your native browser to pick it up as a bookmark then I'm guessing you might need Root access to dump the files into the official cache directory. Not sure...

oki so after opening the page, my browser does not recognise it as a webpage (with associated files), but just opens a page of code.
so what's this root business stuff please?

Damn! Is this an HTML webpage? Or JSP/ASP/etc? Also, do you know the extension? (ie. The part after the . in the filename)

Rooting won't make a difference in this case. Rooting = granting yourself admin privileges so you can mess around with the inner workings of the device to your heart's content. Well, nearly...

it's a webpage I've created from Excel; so it's indeed a "master" .html page and it's associated .html files in a folder.

Ok, will attempt to simulate it a bit later and hopefully give you a workaround.
Not urgent I hope?
