Had a fab time yesterday with Diane65, andrews and D65's DD.

What lovely people! Andrews and I have been friends for ages but we hadn't seen each other for quite some time. :shifty: Apparently she has been secretly dieting and lurking on the WW thread since about August. As a result she is looking extra slinky these days. I told her that I was going to "out" her on the thread in the hope that she would contribute more fully now - I'm looking forward to her upcoming posts!

Diane and I have been good chums since April when we started our weightloss journeys together. She's been such an inspiration to me over those months and like many others on here has kept me going with encouragement, teasing, enthusiasm and occassional nagging when I've deserved it.

I'd never met her before yesterday and was feeling just a little apprehensive. Meeting people in real life from the internet can be fraught with danger I've read. Could our Diane have been a serial killer masquerading as a relatively normal person? :shifty:

I needn't have worried - she is really lovely. Friendly, smiley, considerate, good fun and with a great sense of humour. Oh yes..... and if anyone is wondering (as I suppose I was after her reading some of her recent posts) has Diane lost too much weight? - does she look ill, gaunt, etc etc? Well in a word - No! Not at all, she looks great! o/ Ugly? - No she's quite the opposite  ;)
I better stop there before I totally embarras her!

Her daughter is a lovely young lady too, and such a credit to her mother.

Anyhow - moving on not sure what I'll be eating today after yesterday's eat all you can chinese buffet pigout. The waiter had to come over to our table and draw a halt to proceedings by specifically asking the three of us if we would please leave now. Before we knew it we were all unceremoniously ushered outside into the cold Newcastle air. 8O

Be good everyone! :D

You surely didn't eat THAT much at the buffet yesterday that you had to be told to leave!! :giggle: Or did you have a doggy bag with you Preston that you were filling up for the next few days?

Hope Diane feels better about herself now that you have said she looks well Preston (and fit ;) ) so Diane you can stop worrying about what your friend said about you.

Andrews - you little lurker!!! 8O Come on tell all - how much have you lost and how did you do it??

:shifty: Well I'm not one to tell tales out of school  but whilst I pretty much restricted myself to one very small plate of low-calorie salady type stuff at the buffet ;) , I'm pretty sure that a certain party amongst us not only freely availed herself of the soup, main and desert courses. And ......whilst I was not always in earshot, so couldn't say for certain if I'd just imagined a debate with staff about the restaurant's "fair use" clause of the "eat all you can buffet offer", it seemed like only moments later that the waiter came up and suggested we may like to leave. 8O

Right mate!! I was just reading your first post and feeling very touched (and embarrassed ;) )by your lovely post only to discover this one lurking below 8O :nono: I was at the cinema with akh43 this morning so unavailable to defend myself and if you had seen it I would say blah, blah, blah to you (it would be funny if you had seen it - ask Dracula). Which bit of your 2 huge plate fulls contained any salad? Plus the chocolate brownie that you indulged in earlier (I did have the toffee cake  ). Preston1990 was also telling me a story about his car underneath the Tyne bridge - I was hoping that he didn't have his Ford Capri hiding around the corner (we've heard about his antics in the back of his Ford Capri :giggle: ). I have to confess we were told by the waiter it was time we left the buffet  :shifty:

Biggins would you mind saving some of the bacon and lentil soup for my December visit as it sounds lovely.

Menu of the day:
Belvita breakfast bars and a cherry yoghurt (300 calories)
Cinnamon bagel and a black coffee (350 calories) I was going to have soup but as DD was having one I couldn't help myself.
Jamaican jerk chicken, salad and potato wedges (400 calories)
Baked apples filled with cinnamon and raisins with a small scoop of ice-cream (150 calories) I know it doesn't really go with my meal. I don't use sugar with it as I like it sourish.

I will do my DVD today as we did plenty of walking yesterday.

Well how the mighty have fallen! Weight Watchers chucked out of All You Can Eat Buffet for overeating and raucous behaviour. My goodness... what will we lurkers think about all this!

Well in truth I would have totally ignored the suggestion from the waiter that you should leave and I would today be penning a letter (or tapping an email to said All You Can Eat Buffet) telling them you were very disappointed/actually quite appalled by their treatment of their esteemed, p*ying customers. And how sad that now you wouldn't be able to recommend their establishment to the 2000+ people you know online who were all dying to eat there.

But we are all very glad to hear that you had a successful meet-up and enjoyed the day. And hope that Diane's daughter enjoyed the uni visit too.
