Hey, Well Done Biggins! :cheer:

Funny you should mention that you think it could be down to not eating so much bread. I'm thinking that could be my problem too, because over recent weeks my bread intake has been steadilly increasing (along with my weight) ;). I'm going to cut out the sandwiches and go back to the standalone salads from tomorrow methinks!

Just realised reading back through some recentish posts that Valda has returned to the thread - Welcome Back!!

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling under the weather Octopus. Take good care of yourself until you are better.

:shifty: I've never heard of an ill octopus before.......... ;) but I have heard of sick squid (six quid). Ta Dah!!......Sorry I'll get my coat. :D

My bike fall soreness has worn off significantly now - so I'm obviously well on the mend. Thanks for all the concern though - very touching!!

ClareBarr and KTfab - How are things with both of you?

I'm with you jojojoanne that joke was dire  but its why we love him ;)
Glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better Preston plus it'll be interesting to see what meals you and Biggins have instead of sandwiches. I have bread nearly everyday either with soup or a sandwich at lunch time so will be copying ideas from you two.

The bread -especially white bread - is high in carbs and it also is high for blood sugar levels so I have tried to cut down over the months but when working it is hard to know what to take for a packed lunch other than a sandwich!! When I am at home I have my homemade soup which is not so high in carbs and is better for you as you get your vegetable intake too. (plus you get brownie points from Mr G. ;) ). Many, many years ago when my mother was watching her weight if clothes were getting tight she would say she was cutting down on bread and potatoes for a while - so I think even back then there was something in it all.

As you all know I haven't counted calories but cut down on the carbs (to keep my blood sugar levels down) and I have just looked back at my weight on my diabetic chart in April and I am a stone lighter now than I was then. Not a lot compared to some of you but I haven't been doing exercises every day and just walked a bit more plus my usual swim. So it works for me. :D

It was raining again this morning but I took the bus to Portobello ( a seaside town not far from us) and had a good long walk along the seafront and round the shops. It brightened up this afternoon so it was nice to get a bit of sea air. Got fish for our meal tonight at the local fishmongers. He is a bit of a comedian and commented that it had been so wet this summer he is going to plant rice in his garden instead of winter pansies!!

Glad to hear you are okay Preston and back to your usual cheeky self. ;)

A stone is brilliant Biggins and we are all different and have different goals in our weight loss journey, mine was primarily so I didn't look so fat and to improve my fitness with the added bonus that it will also be good for my general health. I actually like exercising when I get into it - I had just got out of the habit of doing it. You have done amazing and stayed positive throughout.
Portobello looks lovely and fresh fish for dinner is so healthy.

Glad to hear that you are having a pain free day ClareBarr o/

Hope that all you people are feeling fit and healthy and the people who weren't feeling too well are improving.

As I didn't do a lot yesterday energy wise (wrote 90 Christmas cards - still about 30 to go but didn't have suitable cards (I like to choose different cards to match different people)) and ate far too much Camembert I woke up with lots of energy hence did my DVD before coming on here.

Menu of the day:
Special K with strawberries (300 calories)
5 beans from Heinz on a slice of toast (300 calories) freebie off akh43 so thank you o/ Weight watchers fromage frais.
Chicken casserole a la jojojoanne what I froze last week (500 calories) Baked apple with sultanas and cinnamon and ice cream as too stuffed yesterday to eat it. (120 calories)

What is everyone else doing on this beautiful autumnal day? :D

5 Heinz beans on toast - 300 calories!!! Big beans!!! ;) Yes I know that is the new range from Heinz. Are they good?

Lovely day so went down to South Queensferry with hubby and watched people abseiling from the Forth Bridge for the Heart, Chest and Stroke charity. Then had a walk round the harbour and into a lovely cafe for coffee.

Menu today - bacon roll and cup of tea. Cup of coffee when out. Now going to have a banana to keep me going until 6pm when will have two small potatoes and sirloin steak, mixed vegetables. Two crackers with cheese and a glass of red medicine. ;)

Off to do the ironing and make a batch of soup for the week ahead. Out for the day tomorrow - dentist first and then meeting friends for lunch. Film at night.

Enjoy the warmer weather while it lasts folks. :cross:
