I am taking a flask of coffee and a sandwich for hubby and I as we are going to stop and have a picnic lunch (sitting in the car probably :( )somewhere. Not travelling far but again it is a night away at less than it would cost for a meal out - and gives us old yins a change of scene!!
I think it's wonderful what you and hubby do, biggins. Many people don't look for deals and just settle for a nice meal out, which is nice, but like you say, you're getting the meal out and a nite away, for less!! My Sister and her husband often do the same.

Just had a lovely lunch .... poached eggs and mushrooms on toast ...mmmmmmmmmm !!!

I too think its lovely - its amazing what you can do for very little. Yogi is trying to mastermind a plan for our Manchester FMUK Christmas night out - so 10 of us will be having a fab night out for very little money. o/ :cross: Noticed Biggins is talking Scottish again - I'll have to get my phrase book out before I head up north to meet the Edinburgh gang. ;)
Loving your lunch jojojoanne o/

Hope you're having a lovely time Biggins and good luck with the weigh in Preston o/ Hope everyone else is keeping well o/

Menu of the day:
Sultana bran (300 calories)
2 Pumpkin samosas and a persimmon (300 calories)
Pumpkin soup with a slice of wholegrain bread (400 calories) followed by a pumpkin muffin (300 calories)
I got carried away with my pumpkin cooking yesterday  I made so much with it yesterday and my freezer is full I ended up taking some muffins to my mums and aunties last night. I said to my daughter its a shame we have no screening as I could take a pumpkin muffin and samosa for everyone - she said I was very sad

I will do a brisk walk tonight as it seems like forever since I've done one.

Have fun everyone o/

I started weight watchers 3 weeks ago, only lost 2 pounds so far, i'm doing it online so have no real idea if this is good or not but it seems a bit poor. I find sticking to 26 points very hard! how does everyone else manage it?

Thank you Diane - surprisingly, I actually lost 2 pounds over the week o/ - and that was despite multiple indiscretions :shifty: Hmmm....it means I'm now just 3 pounds heavier than I was about 6 weeks ago - but it's progress of a sort I suppose

Does anyone remember the saga of my freezer? Well last week after much research on the internet, I finally managed to fix it.......yes, I know.....nobody was more surprised and delighted than me!! ......and I was kind of really proud of myself for saving all the expense of getting a new one (and as they no longer made that model, a new matching fridge too).....

"I've fixed the freezer!" I proudly said to my daughter, expecting her to laud me as a near god-like hero..........her response?

Her face visibly fell and she said "Oh Great - I suppose that'll mean you'll be b*ying loads of cheap bargain rubbish to fill it up with again!"

I was hurt on so many levels - Kids! Don't you just love them? :wall:

Enjoy your mini hol Biggins! :D

Be good everyone!

The trouble with children is that they all turn into saddos like us in time but they just don't realise it yet!!! ;)

Well done on your weight lose Preston and being able to fix your freezer! what a handy chap to have around!!

Just back from staying the night at the hotel. Room was basic and needed a bit TLC - but wouldn't have got it at the price we pa*d if it had been 5 star luxury. Food was excellent and huge platefuls. Hubby and I shared a plate of nachos to start and then I had grilled chicken breast with a tomato and parmesan sauce with baby potatoes and mixed veg. The sauce was lovely. Had a couple of glasses of wine but no dessert or coffee - too full. This morning she asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast but never asked what we would like and came back with a huge plate for each of us which had two fried eggs, two sausages, baked beans, mushrooms, two rashers of bacon, slice of black pudding, and half a fried tomato!!!!! 8O Plus a basket of white and brown toast. Couldn't eat all that but did do it justice.

Working tomorrow at the Uni graduations so will be running around like a headless chicken until 8pm so hopefully will shed some of the weight I'll have put on with all the food yesterday and today. :cross:
