Sorry Sally - didn't spot your post there when I was making mine before!sally1212 wrote:I started weight watchers 3 weeks ago, only lost 2 pounds so far, i'm doing it online so have no real idea if this is good or not but it seems a bit poor. I find sticking to 26 points very hard! how does everyone else manage it?
Diane is right (

Most people on here aren't actually using the official "Weight Watchers" system as such, most of us are just "watching our weight" so to speak. So I can't really equate to your 26 points thing!
The success I've had (if you could call it that) is just down to trying to eat less food overall (avoiding as much high calorie stuff as possible) and exercising more. Oh yes, and filling up with loads of water before each meal. There's no calories in it, and it makes you feel full so you tend to eat less. That's the theory of it anyway, in practice it can sometimes be hard to stick with.

Please continue to join in with the discussions and share your triumphs and disappointments too. We all have lapses from time to time and try to help each other along the way.
Don't worry Andrews, I can sympathise with you there because I've eaten too much stuff today as wellandrews wrote:I have had a bad day (hangs head in shame) - diet right off track - will get back on line again tomorrow. Being cold, wet and weary have all contributed to my lack of resolve.

Re: Weight Watchers
Sally, as Preston said, it's not much about how many pounds you lose (especially after the few first week) but more about learning to eat healthier. If you eat healthier (that might mean less, too), and if you exercise, then you'll be fine. 2 pounds is great, your body has to get used to this new diet.
I don't check on my weight, I just check the mirror, the pants, the dresses, if it still fit or not, if I feel good or not. But I have included the Weight Watchers meals in my diet, a few times a week (not this week though, I didn't b*y any as I'll mainly eat salads). They're good cause even though the package seems small, it's actually all you need.
What you can do is simply trying to cook less, put less in your snack pack for lunch, but bring one or two extra fruits or cereal bars.
And don't forget to exercise! It doesn't mean running a marathon once a week of course :)
It depends on your sport level and the time you have.
Andrews: I had a bad week but back on track too! We all have our weak moment, as long as it doesn't last, you're good
Today's meals for a VERY long day (three graduation ceremonies at work, argh)
- a banana with a yogurt, and toasts with Kinder in it (ok, I'm sorry, but I wanted a kind of pain au chocolat and I was weak this morning)
- a big burger but without bread, or salad, or cheese, or sauce, or... oh wait, I just had a steak, with 7 fries (not joking) and garden peas + lettuce. Then a Twix (one bar)
- rice and tuna and cherry tomato salad for my break
- tomato soup with croutons, and a toast with goat cheese

I've had 2 pumpkin muffins today so we're all indulging today. At least you had the excuse of being cold, wet and weary - whereas it was because I had baked far too many (24 of them)Preston1990 wrote:Diane is right (isn't she always!
) that is a good start!! Every single pound lost is one less to go and should be celebrated.

- Tomorrow is another day, though! .....I'm off for a twenty mile plus bike ride, probably in the pouring rain, with a couple of mates. Shared adversity! nothing like it to spur you on!!

I'm like Octopus and also b*y weight watchers food - I like their yoghurt as they are light and taste really nice. Biggins your night away sounds good especially the killer breakfast

Re: Weight Watchers
Good morning people and hopefully we are all going to be good today
Menu of the day
Sultana bran and a black coffee (300 calories)
1 pumpkin samosa, a weight watchers yoghurt, a banana and a pumpkin muffin (575 calories)
Large cake as its treat day and a black coffee (700-800 calories)
Just writing all this down makes me realise what a rubbish day nutrition wise that I'm having especially cake instead of a meal - its worse when you actually plan to be bad rather than it just happening
It will be the exercise dvd today as I think that I will be on carb overload today
Hope everyone is good and behaves a lot better than myself.

Were you awesome yesterday?Preston1990 wrote:Some of us are going to be absolutely awesome today!!Diane65 wrote:Good morning people and hopefully we are all going to be good today![]()

Menu of the day:
4 Belvita biscuits and a weight watchers fromage frais (300 calories)
Ham salad sandwich and an apple (300 calories)
Weight watchers cheese and onion quiche with a large salad (400 calories) Pumpkin muffin (the last one) and a banana (400 calories)
It will be a rest day today - no idea why as I'm not doing anything after work or all weekend for that matter but now just trying to exercise 4 days a week. Its hard work being on my economy drive and not going out - I might even pack for Denmark that might pass on 15 minutes

Have a fun day everyone

How can cold, wet and weary, and a little extra food mean I put on 3 pounds?andrews wrote:I have had a bad day (hangs head in shame) - diet right off track - will get back on line again tomorrow. Being cold, wet and weary have all contributed to my lack of resolve.

Re: Weight Watchers
Your body must weigh heavier as you are wet - if you blow dry your hair that will get rid of a few pounds of moisture plus your skin will be absorbing all the rain so it just needs to evaporate away the 3lbs and when you feel weary you feel heavier so the scales might be psychologically weighing you heavier - Whatever the answer is its not your fault and thats because you are my lovely friend!andrews wrote:How can cold, wet and weary, and a little extra food mean I put on 3 pounds?andrews wrote:I have had a bad day (hangs head in shame) - diet right off track - will get back on line again tomorrow. Awwwwwwwww!!! You'll soon work that off, andrews, once you're back to full strength
