Hatfield hugely oversubscribed, so glad I got here early, also people were being turned away with the page from paper, but had not printed voucher, always happens here.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Saw this at Maidstone Odeon, full of oiks and 4 year old children whose parents obviously wanted to scar them. People turned away from here too and lots of meandering down aisles for late comers.
Great film, awesome 3d, all the subtitles were half hidden though lucky I have some French and Hindi.

Absolutely beautiful, the 3D just flowed from scene to scene. I think I might have to go and see this again as I'm sure there will be subtle things I missed this time around and I have read the book :) 9/10 for such a spectacular film

There were quite a few small to medium kids in the screening I was at and for a 2 hour film it seemed to really engage them, no constant trips to the toilet etc. At the beginning you could hear a few making comments and were clearly gripped when one shouted out 'go on orange juice!' .
I thought the 3D was pretty good for the most part, tended to notice it more at the start. and the CGI tiger (I'm assuming he was CGI?) was fantastic, from it's actions as a tiger to the way it's body changed over time and texture of fur etc very realistic.

As a committed, evangelizing atheist, i came out of this film with non-belief firmly intact.

Nice try baby-Jesus, better luck next time.

Beautiful clap trap, 8/10.

This was amazing. Everything about this was great, the story was awesome (I can't remember the book, but I think it was similar). The characters were great and the CGI was brilliant especially the tiger. The 3D is one of the best 3D I have ever seen. There were even plenty of animails etc. jumping out the screen. 9/10
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

You can hardly expect a movie set in religiously motivated times and setting and regarding a man raised devoutly, to be irreligious. Yet it wasnt preaching religion specifically, it was preaching painting a prettier picture than the banality of isolation. Which story do you prefer?

I'd go 8.5/10, it was missing something in the first half but gained momentum as the movie progressed. Visuakky great though for me not the best 3d I've seen, it makes a good alternative Xmas movie. Perhaps one too many glowfish and a real threat of turning into an episode of Sinbad at times, fortunately it didnt.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

no idea what "religiously motivated times and setting" means.

"Yet it wasnt preaching religion specifically"... yes it was, a mish-mash of hinduism, christianity & islam....specifically.

new-age pick-your-own nonsense.

enjoyed it in the same way i enjoyed cinderella.

"Which story i prefer" has no bearing on the way anyone should live their life.

score gone down to 7/10, because of you.

happy holidays.

ps you edited your post whilst i was replying....sneaky.

I liked it. Considering I didn't finish the book (which I'm motivated to do now), the film seemed to pretty much follow the story of the book. I likened this to Cast Away with an Avatar feel.

The 3D worked for the most part, and the CGI rendering of Richard Parker was impressive. Nice Sunday morning fare, now I'm off to Whipsnade zoo to see if they have any Bengal tigers in stock. 7/10

8O Oh no! Don't argue further people, he might even go down to a 6! I can see it in his eyes, he'll do it! :noo:

Loved it while I was watching it, and thought the opening scenes in India were absolutely stunning. Especially the shot of the swimming pool in France. Maybe it slightly unravelled towards the end when the philosophy got a bit on the nose, but I think it earned a bit of navel-gazing.
