Re: Seven Psychopaths
I saw this at a test screening ages ago and I thought it was decent enough felt the black comedy wasn't edgy enough and played it a bit safe. Farrell was underwhelming in the lead but I did enjoy Rockwell and Walken's performances.
Having seen the trailer months later, I found it very misleading and gives the audience the wrong impression of the film.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this so was relieved and pleased to find it quite entertaining and not too gory, other than in the usual fake, filmic way. It wasn't as black as In Bruges and the plot was messier, but it was clever and non-formulaic. Certainly, having seen both tonight's offerings at different times, this was far more to my taste than Celeste + Jesse Interminably.

Weird mish mash film, but sort of liked it. Very violent and did have some laugh out loud moments.
Not my usual but watchable 6/10

Re: Seven Psychopaths
You were spared. Whatever you do, don't waste your voucher on going to see Seven Psychopaths, a pointless waste of time, I was misled to believe it was like In Bruges. I wish I'd gone to see Pitch PerfectYinster wrote:Went to Glasgow Braehead. Swapped my eticket for two tickets. No queue so made a queue. Stood for a while. As we were at the front Odeon kept us informed about what was happening.
1. Odeon staff 1: Screen was still being used till 18:00
2. Odeon staff 1: Screen was being cleaned but they need to test the film
3. Odeon staff 1: Their projectionists were all on holiday so it was left to whoever to try to format the film and then get the key.
4. Sky rep: Please don't leave any gaps as the queue looks busy
4. Odeon 2: Finally around 18:20 they gave up and said it won't be shown due to digital issues but we were allowed to see another film they were showing tonight or get a voucher to see another film another time
5: Odeon staff 3: Issues two vouchers for OH and I. Vouchers last till 31/8/2013 so going to see The Hobbit when it comes out.
Teddybear1 and OH were further down the queue so had no idea what was going on.

Re: Seven Psychopaths
When to Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue for the screening, was looking forward to the show. Got there 15 mins before the start time, and there were already well over 100 people in front of us. Was a bit concerned the cinema wouldn't take us all. Sure enough, the last 50 or so of us were turned away. What made it worse was the fact that we were made to wait unnecessarily even after the staff knew it was full. I had to walk up (jumped the queue) to ask what's happened. I then told one of the staff members to just announce to the poor people still waiting behind us instead of waiting for people to q and find out they can't attend. It's just asking for abuse. Luckily, they did. While disappointed, I guess this is what happens when one turns up late-ish... 15 mins before start time for a preview is considered late in this case.
Still - thanks to saifullah19 for the tickets, even though we didn't get to see the show.

Re: Seven Psychopaths
Overallocation is usual, but normally doesn't happen on such a big scale so either some people copied their tickets or the cinema have once again chosen their tiniest screen for this. I try to be there for a film half an hour before but with the best will in the world it's not always possible. I was surprised though at the huge screen we got at the Vue Islington tonight.
