Saw this last week and enjoyed it. It falls just short of being a great film but likeable performances from Aubrey Plaza and Mark Duplass make it work. I particularly liked how their relationship played out and the ambiguity around the Kenneth character.
I'm not sure this film could have been more 'indie' if it tried though. Despite the sci-fi trimmings it felt like a typical Sundance film. It even had Lynn Shelton (director of Your Sister's Sister which also starred Duplass) in a small cameo as the mother who complains about Jake Johnson's character at the football game.
Not quite as blown away by it as I was expecting but it was sweet, occasionally funny and I'll be happy enough to sit through it again.

I saw this at the Holloway last night. I thought it was quirky, sometimes funny, off-beat in a good way and classically endearing towards the end.

Just popped my review up. What an infuriating film, taking a brilliant premise and then doing the most boring possible thing with it.

Also that zither scene. *groan*

Nothing ground-breaking, but a cute, enjoyable little film.

Here's my belated review.

Disappointing. Nothing to blow you away, did not live up to my expectations, no comedy, cliched characters, and although shorter in length, it felt long. However, it does leave you guessing right to the end. Some redeeming points are there are some quite touching moments, with the time traveller, and some real life relationships/friendships, and the time machine. The two leads are great at bouncing off weirdness against each other. A modern day fairy tale with an ending that seemed rather contrived.
5/10

Lovely to see a friendly face at Holloway Odeon, at the Sky preview. Thanks funthing for also saving as seats as OH was late again!

Cute and quirky and an enjoyable film.
Much preferred Mark Duplass in this to My Sisters..... which I really disliked. It was also nice to see Aubrey Plaza as the more normal of the 2 after her stints in Parks & Recreation (one of the funniest TV comedies - why have Channel 4 not b*ght this?!)
A nice alternative to the Jack Reacher film of earlier this week!

One of my favourite movies of last year. I love Duplass and Plaza.
