What a shame, annabrett! It sounds as though you were unlucky (or late) as most other cinemas seem to have had plenty spare seats.annabrett wrote:I couldn't get into portsmouth, they told me it was full, big, big fan of Hitchcock so disappointed

Re: Hitchcock
they usually use the smallest screens in portsmouth vue, the last two sky screenings were the same when I arrived 20 minutes before show but at least I got tickets for another film them two times so luckilly got to see Les Mis and Django Unchained, but only because the sky rep talks the management around, will showfilmfirst they just treat you like a nuisance and just tell you to go away and complain to the invisible company contacts on the voucher.

It was packed out today, even though it wasn't in the smallest screen!annabrett wrote:they usually use the smallest screens in portsmouth vue, the last two sky screenings were the same when I arrived 20 minutes before show but at least I got tickets for another film them two times so luckilly got to see Les Mis and Django Unchained, but only because the sky rep talks the management around, will showfilmfirst they just treat you like a nuisance and just tell you to go away and complain to the invisible company contacts on the voucher.
I arrived at 2:40 and it was practically sold out!
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Yep! The sky one's are the worst, you have to get there at like 5:50 for a 6:30 screening because they use the smallest screen!annabrett wrote:I suppose thats the way it always will be from now on in portsmouth as we don't get many everyone wants to go when they do get a freebie

Re: Hitchcock
Spare seats at Wood Green. Let in late, started 5 mins late - and the cinema staff kept coming in and walking up and down which was weird and distracting.
I wonder if they spotted a phone on their night vision cameras and were coming in to try and catch someone pirating?

Re: Hitchcock
Overall I enjoyed the film, but was a little disappointed we didnt get to see more of the the actual film Psycho. I was expecting to see more of the filming of the Psycho included in the movie...
Was very impressive with the cast though, I thought both Hopkins and Mirren put in great performances.
7/10 from me

Re: Hitchcock
Watched this today at Wester Hailes Odeon, thought it was pretty good! Helen Mirren was fantastic (as always) and didnt recognise Toni Collette til half way thru! It seems to have just touched on Alfred Hitchcock obsessions with leading (blonde) ladies and was more about him & his wife and the making of Psycho. I've always thought Hitchock was a bit creepy (he was the guy introducing creepy/scary films)i found Anthony Hopkins portrayal of him a little bit creepy BUT charming LOL 8/10
I did love the last line between him & Alma though!
Alma: I've waited 30years for you to say that to me! Hitchcock: And that my dear is why they call me the Master of Suspense!
