Best friends David and Emily love their carefree life on a coastal caravan park. When David learns that Emily is being forced to move away, he agrees to help her hide out in a remote cave on the beach. But their innocent secret soon becomes complicated, as David watches the police close in on his missing friend. When the real reason Emily wants to escape comes to light, David's world is shattered. Swept up in a situation out of his control, and with his feelings for his best friend growing stranger by the day, David is forced to take action.

A friend just told me that he has seen this, but thought that, while it was enjoyable, it was a typical Brit flick (make of that what you will) and could have been made cheaper, for TV and not lost anything.

FIZZING WITH ADOLESCENT EXPECTATION,teenage best friends David (a riveting Thomas Turgoose) and Emily (Holliday Grainger) fill their dog days skipping across the rooftops of their quiet Norfolk caravan park like stones skimming on the water, each goading the other into minor acts of mischief to wile away the time.
Discovering that Emily is to be sent to live with her father, they decide to hide her away, causing uproar and unease in their small community who fear the worst for the disappeared girl.
Tom Harper’s directorial debut captures the ill-at-ease and gawky nature of encroaching maturity and the burden of misplaced longing, playing out with the same sense of foreboding as Dennis Potter’s Blue Remembered Hills while set against a similarly hazy and cruel-looking summer.
