Re: free tickets etiquette

As for rustling noisy bags. I have recently found that Cineworld have the noisiest paper bags in the world.

Either that or the people around me have got ham fisted. The rustling of paper bags housing the pic n mix and/or the popcorn drowns out the films lately!

I don't understand why most cinema chains don't invest in the plastic popcorn holders that Urban Outfitters seem to stock  It would make everyones lives a lot simpler!

I am, after all, what you made me.

It's quite funny when you hear someone apparently trying to pull out a very specific piece of popcorn from the bag. Hand in for a couple of seconds, and then hand out, surely?

I'm amused by how much venting this post has generated. We should do it more often.

I have a rant: I find outrageous the prices of food at the cinema: £ 2.70 for a bottle of water ¬¬

Coming from America, I was actually a bit surprised they sold crisps in cinemas. It isn't really a thing in America, probably because of the noise. I think they include the bag noise and the sound of chewing crisps in the ads they play before the film to tell you to be quiet, actually. :P

The people next to me at my last screening absolutely stunk of grease and fat :X LIke they spend all day frying chicken etc. As if that wasn't bad enough they then rustled through their 100's of plastic bags, to bring out the biggest bags of popcorn and munchies you've ever seen.

The stuff the cinema sell is bad enough but when you have the patrons bringing in Chicken, Burgers, Sushi, its all a bit much. :nono:
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Hope this isn't going too far off topic but people will bring fast, greasy, smelly food anywhere. Man in hospital across from husband had KFC brought in to him -- talk about revolting when you are feeling poorly!

lol especially funny the 'no talking, no one has pa*d £8-50 to hear your directors commentary'.
I'd agree with pretty much all that, though I have no problem with covert slurps and crunching (ie when the movie volume is so high no one can hear you munch - on the downside if you time things wrong then you end up with cheekfuls of crisps you can't swallow or chew for a whole 10 minute quiet scene).
