A Late Quartet
The Fugue Quartet have performed together for over 25 years, attracting worldwide acclaim. However, when one member admits that time may have finally caught up with them, the quartet are faced with an uncertain future. Yaron Zilberman's thoughtful drama explores the complexity of the quartet’s lives behind their stage personas, employing Beethoven’s notoriously difficult String Quartet No. 14, as a metaphor for the challenges life throws up. A Late Quartet is an emotionally uplifting film about the beauty of music, and the secrets of the heart that lie beneath the surface of life-long relationships. Director Yaron Zilberman elicits career-best performances from a fine ensemble cast including Christopher Walken, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener, Mark Ivanir and Imogen Poots.

Re: A Late Quartet
So I got members tickets for this from Picturehouse Greenwich at noon today (in person as I was in the area) and they gave us allocated seating! I wouldn't mind as we got exactly the seats we wanted, but it's usually General Admission, plus they are sharing this with Times+ and I can't see this working with them all having to queue up on the day swapping their printouts for allocated seats - that will take ages. Also, I remember this happened once before and I questioned it - it turned out to have been a mistake and they had to contact all members to let them know!

Re: A Late Quartet
Sometimes we non-members have to swap our print-outs for physical tickets and I assume this time around they've printed off all seats left over after member allocation and you just have to sit wherever the seat is you've been given. Doesn't have to take extra time, until people will start making a fuss.

Re: A Late Quartet
Yeah but can you imagine the discussions "No, I don't want to sit in that row. Haven't you got something further back? No, we need to sit together." etc. etc. Or they decide to do GA after all, the members with allocated seats come later than usual as they think they have their seat sorted and find someone sitting in it! Nothing like a bit of Sunday morning fun at the cinema. I might give them a call later.

Re: A Late Quartet
People'll be sitting together if they pick up their tickets together (as I'm sure they're printed off in order), so PH should just say they don't do swaps to prevent this from happening...

Re: A Late Quartet
Yeah but we were allowed to choose our seats so I am guessing there might be a few single ones inbetween somewhere left over, as is often the case.

It sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. I wonder if they have taken into account the fact that some people can only sit in certain seats because of their disabilities and that they might need their carer sitting with them.
It makes me glad that we aren't going!
Re: A Late Quartet
We were told at the screening of Vinyl at Islington Vue that it was open seating for us but that some people (who had purchased tickets -- what is this you say???) would have seat numbers and if they had our seats we had to move. Fortunately we chose right (and there were plenty of spare seats anyway) but it could have been awkward if we'd got there earlier and then been told to move and if all the seats had been taken at that stage.

Re: A Late Quartet
I'll watch anything at the Greenwich PH. If it's boring, I'll have a nap in the comfy reclining seat, LOL.
