When you're not on here, what else do you do?

#1 Post by andrews » Tue Apr 30, 2013 1:07 pm

Several of us spend a lot of time visiting FMUK, and of course attending free films, and in some cases, free theatre visits as well. But we don't live here (well there are one or two who might....) But when you're not on here, what are your other interests/hobbies ?

I enjoy going to the gym and visiting the pool area - not always to swim, but to enjoy the steam room and sauna.
Other hobbies include cooking, and in particular, baking; reading; going to the theatre; visiting friends (and eating); eating out - trying new restaurants and bars; travelling and visiting new places both at home and abroad.
Now that the weather has improved, I shall take myself off for walks, and visit those places I've only had time to drive by before.

When I 'm not doing any of that, I like to watch a bit of TV, surf the Internet, and sleep.

I enjoy going to the theatre and go to a lot of concerts
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Theatre for me, too, plus reading, going for long walks and, not least, (sometimes) making cakes and (frequently) eating them!

I like what you do with your spare time o/ o/

I am all over the place, I feel I dont know who the hell I am now. I just added a whole new time consuming hobby to my many other hobbies. Amateur astronomy! So my full list:

Squash twice or more a week
Play Cricket twice a week
Running instead of catching public transport from work or to squash centre etc
Gym 1-2 time a week
WAS a very frequent movie goer and home video man until this year when Astronomy took over!
Frequent poster on a Time travel book club (and moderator...but nothing anywhere as taxing as what Beate & co do)
Reading
Frequent poster on a programming, technolological forum
Frequent poster on astronomy forum
Around that I fit about 30-35hrs of work (video editing, cricket, and IT work) to b*y me bread and butter!
Learning Photography.
And I make an effort to sleep 7hrs every night because that is the healthy to do...but too often its 5-6 hours
That's about it for now :red:
My film reviews here . ......My FMUK 2014 ratings.......My FMUK 2011 ratings.......My FMUK 2013 ratings . ......My FMUK 2012 ratings .

Do you have a VR headset? If so, maybe we can play a physical sports game or even be sports/fitness partners, hit me up if you keen.

Oh and, forgot this as it's relatively new for me, though I have taken it very seriously since day one: spending a short time meditating every day, using a website recommended by my physio. I am not good at sitting still and switching off, so I am sure this is addressing a hitherto unmet need. There, now I am going to sound even more knit-your-own-yogurt than before, but so what!
