Handy tips and tricks

#1 Post by SOLACE » Sun May 05, 2013 6:23 pm

A new thread for basically any handy tips or tricks that can prove useful in normal day to day life , I've started the thread because I get sent various tips on a regular basis and I simply have to share on here as a lot of them are really good!

So to start things off, here is the one I received today

Reheat a store-b*ght baguette:

The best way to reheat a store-b*ght baguette is to run it quickly under the tap with the water running and then put it directly into a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes, until it's crisp on the outside and warm on the inside.

Hope that's useful! :D

Gonna post a few more just to get things going

To remove permanent marker ink from any hard surface, spray it with deodorant and rub hard with a soft cloth.

Removing coffee stains with salt: Put some salt on the stain, and the coffee will be literally absorbed by the salt. Then wash as normal.

Decorating your plates without damaging them: Use some gold or silver removable window paint (window colour for example) and write the names of your guests on each plate. They'll love it! Once you've finished your meal, you can peel the paint off, leaving your plates as spotless as they were before!

Ah, ok, i thought for a while and from your previous post which has disappeared now that you were trying to undermine my effort in trying to be active in this forum and sharing whatever i could , a lot of things can be googled, but sharing here is what makes us part of this wonderful community that we have here. Thanks for your tip , hope you can contribute more

Not trying to undermine you at all. Removed previous comment as, upon reflection, I thought it was a tad negative.

Tip : remove slightly negative comments
