Handy tips and tricks

Hi guys,

Not quite sure where this should go so, if anyone has any suggestions about a more appropriate forum, I'd be obliged!

For those of us who are slaves to our appetite, it's worthwhile (if you're a member) p*ying a visit to Costco's food court before visiting the cinema.

A 1/4lb hot dog and large drink will cost you £1.50, as opposed to the £5+ you'd shell out for at the cinema for an inferior product!

The hot dog comes foil wrapped once prepared, making it easier to bring it into your venue of choice!

Costco is fantastic. They also have loads of candy as well in the actual warehouse. Might be a bit big to bring a full container into a screening but you could b*y one of the massive tubs and stick some in a plastic bag!

On a related Costco note I find their Kirkland wipes are absolutely fantastic for wiping various surfaces, much better than the standard stuff you find in the supermarkets. Even when the wipes run out I use standard kitchen roll dipped in the remaining liquid and carry on using. Amazing stuff!

Removing furniture marks on carpets: When you move some heavy furniture, there are always some marks on the carpet. To make them disappear, put a clean cloth on the mark and iron. Then brush the carpet backwards.

Seeing as though it's bbq season

Serving sauces in muffin tin: Instead of using many small bowls to serve sauces and condiments at a barbecue or a party, use a muffin tin.

Remove dough quickly from hands: Keep a small bowl of cornmeal nearby while kneading and working with dough. If you need to quickly answer the phone, the door, or rescue a runaway toddler while your hands are full of sticky dough, rub dry cornmeal on your hands. This removes dough faster than washing your hands in soap and water.

Remove stickers from wood: Children's stickers can be removed from wood by applying white vinegar to the sticker, letting it soak and then scraping off.

One more for today

Cleaning stainless steel sinks: To shine stainless steel sinks or appliances, rub a small amount of flour on it, then rinse. Rub with a dry cloth to make it shine.
