Re: Black Rock
What was the purpose of that film?
i know what I saw but I don't understand why we were watching and were we supposed to get some big meaning from it . . . correction, ANY meaning!
None of the characters had any depth. No real story. I didn't even find that any tension was built up.
Agree with Beate . . .at least it was short!
Marks 2.5/10
Delighted I had not pa*d to see this!

Re: Black Rock
Classy female revenge / survival movie. For a genre movie, it did it's job.
Pleasure to see non-stereotypical female roles. Movie let down by the male actors. 1 dimensional-nothings. No motivation / no fear / no dice.
solid 7/10

Re: Black Rock
Thought this was a pretty strange flick to be honest, it was almost like there wasn't any dialogue in the script and the actors were just told to ad lib their way through each scene
.
Although I found the first thirty minutes or so very hard going I did think it picked up quite a bit after that and actually became borderline compelling in the final third.
Overall, I found watching this to be a positive experience so I think it's done just enough to scrape a 6/10 from me...

Re: Black Rock
Big let down for a survival flick. I especially hated the pathetic girly fight scenes, could have done better using my little toe!

Re: Black Rock
I thought it was alright, although the short running time meant that none of the interesting thematic stuff was properly explored.

Loved the scene where they're naked and making spears in the moonlight. That's evocative stuff.

Re: Black Rock
It's lucky I just double checked the listings for this (for using the SFF voucher) this morning's screening in sheffield is showing up as sold out even though you'd have thought most people would on turn up and exchange for tickets on the day. Unless there's a technical problem and that's why they've greyed it out, just can't imagine the screen being completely full.
