Saw this at an almost full screening at Cineworld tonight. About 12 minutes late in starting and at the beginning didn't think I was going to enjoy it but although it was gory and gross in parts I actual enjoyed the second half of it and particularly the ending.

I still enjoyed this on a second viewing and apart from a couple of scenes already discussed above that were just OTT, this stood up to another look. I stand by what I said about the "playing himself" (that's "playing himself" and not "playing WITH himself"!) element to be superfluous to the movie which would have worked just as well with unknowns or actors playing fictional characters. OK, there is an element of self-parody eg. Michael Cera, but otherwise the majority of this premise is redundant.

Oh, and apparantly the Holy Trinity is like a Neapolitan ice-cream! Lol. Nicely put.

Edinburgh was packed. A couple of walk outs but generally mixed age audience were laughing all the way through.

It was pretty funny and the self parodies were really good.

Emma Watson must weigh about the same as a bag of sugar how teeny weeny is she?!!

A good laugh.

I worship the utterly disgusting Danny McBride so there's no way I wasn't going to enjoy this. Admittedly, I don't think I broke out into fully fledged laughter more than once but I did sit there with an incredibly dumb smile on my face throughout (the same reaction I had to last year's 21 Jump Street). Contrary to popular belief, this is not as idiotic a comedy as you think it is. Almost every joke is a deliberate wink at the audience and requires a fair bit of US pop-culture insight to get the punchline. If you've never watched How I Met Your Mother, The Office or any of the Apatow-produced comedies like Superbad & Pineapple Express, I think a lot of the (clearly improvised) humour would fall flat.

Overall, great fun but I definitely would not recommend this to anyone except hardcore fans of the stars.

100% agree (except the Danny McWho bit as I'd never heard of him). My kind of humour, but in-jokes that sail right over my head annoy and indeed fall flat.

Never even heard of it, I'm afraid. Nor any of the movies mentioned previously, with the exception of Superbad. Pineapple Express? That sounds like a dance studio to me. Or a West End musical.

I've heard the name Seth Rogen before, but I wouldn't have recognised him if I shared a lift (elevator) with him. He even had the same head as Danny McThing.

Saw this last night at O2 cineworld.

Better than expected and a few laugh out moments. Loved all the main characters mocking themselves. Personally not a big fan of Danny McBride..I just don't get it.

Definitely worth a watch especially if you have seen Pineapple Express.
