Agree with those that said so above that the big screen at the Empire is the best one! BFI Imax is okay, but only from the back seats and it's kind of too much. Sky superscreen is actually pretty great but I wouldn't p*y extra to sit there (heck, I wouldn't p*y at all...)

Raj, I am speaking about those http://i.ebayimg.com/t/10-ODEON-CINEMA- ... ~60_12.JPG (and their blue version); they are not "typical" Odeon vouchers (the typical ones are those http://www.odeon.co.uk/b2b/img/bulk-tic ... ickets.jpg and they are indeed not valid for BFI Imax)
The pink ones are valid for everything, everywhere at any time (even if the film is part of the free film suspended list), the blue ones have tick boxes on the back (validity, Premier seats, Imax)

In my experience the sky super screen viewings at the O2 are rarely available on the sky £3 Mondays, however maybe I've just been unlucky and never caught my preferred film there on a deal but they usually give you a fairly restricted list of films and viewing times compared to what is available to "full p*ying"customers.

I have to admit sometimes when I'm sitting towards the sides and near the front half of the o2 super screen the sound is dreadful - I agree it's far too loud in places. I find I'm jumping at any little action scene. Think those seats must be under the speakers but they really need to sort it out.

Do people remember the super screen before they put in the balcony? I remember I was mesmerised by it, it seemed huge, thought they said it was one of the largest in Europe with almost 1000 seats. Then they did the refurb and it all seemed less impressive. Maybe I've become desensitised to it with all the sky screenings and it doesn't feel special anymore, but the screen just seems smaller to me.

Another vote for Empire Leicester sq- screen 1 too.

I used to really like Greenwich picture house until a hot bulb fell on my friend's head and their customer service was appalling. Apparently bulbs get hot and loose sometimes 8O  So don't sit under any bulbs at that cinema. You have been warned! :D I choose Hackney (or even rubbish Stratford) over it now every time if its got to be a picture house.

Timeout used to sporadically offer £5 vouchers to see films at BFI IMAX and I used to try to make use of those promotions but the last time I noticed Timeout doing the deal I think I went to see Eagle Eye, so it was a while ago!

There never seems to be those kind of deals for BFI IMAX anymore. I used one of my precious pink odeon vouchers to see a film there late last year and it reminded me how much I love that screen. Think my friends pa*d £16+ or so for their tickets 8O and we were just in front of the premium seats - perfect view.

Re: Vue Extreme screens, I have been to one and found it was longer than ordinary screens but not much taller. It is Vue's version of Odeon's IMAX screen.
