I'm glad the majority user reviews are much better than the individual critic reviews that no one cares about.
You stole my words hun  , I went to see it with my sis and my mum we all loved it but we also thought it was a bit long, something I didn't care much because I got to see superman in action for longer :p , it has really good action scenes and didn't drag at all, I can't believe some people are giving this movie bad reviews :undecided: the back and forth scenes weren't confusing at all.

I saw it on the weekend, I honestly didn't like it that much, I only liked the parts when it looked back to when Clark was younger
Maybe there was too much hype around it but it felt very long and repetitive for me so I couldn't wait for the credits to roll

Saw this film on opening day, must say what a film! Staying true to the comics origins......

Zack's movies tend to embrace the unreal. So its no surprise that in MoS he embues the movie with a dream-like quality via its extreme non-linear structure, weak dialogue, cold illogical screen switches and wafer thin lead characters. The green screen is the star of the movie at a fitting time in movie history when Green screen has become King in cinema earners, but in this movie this is at a substantial cost to story content and characters. Superman virtually sleepwalks his role, blindly accepting his role in administering physical punishment to Zod, Inc. Zod and Louis Lane seem equally at odds as to why they are doing what they doing. Amy Adams Lane is probably the worst Lane ever, and that includes both Bosworth's toned down one and the dippy teen one in Smallville - a shocking waste of both Louis and Amy.

Perhaps I can see how the dream theme is fitting for MoS since Superman is the ultimate geek's wish fulfilment fantasy, to get the girl, all the superpowers and put right all the wrongs in the world with ease. And the effects on IMAX are pretty damn jawdropping. But all that doesn't make it a great movie. In a nutshell, three words that are lacking here - script, character, direction. Zack shouldn't be excused from not including these properly just because his name is Snyder, though I am in awe of his visual flair.

I watched it last night and enjoyed the movie. I did not like Louis she was boring and the General Zod was was proper good.

I have a massive problem with Zack Synder as a story teller and its this his first and second acts are amazing but his final act is always weak, he prefers style over substance the attention to detail can be either meticulous to the point of either being anal or over whelming. By detail I mean as visually the tiny details as in Watchmen where autobiographies on the first Nite Owls bookshelf are visible for a scene that barely lasts two minutes. The Watchmen had a major flaw for me which omitted a massive key element of the story with regards to the New Frontiersman and the artists and writers sent to an Island to work on a top secret project . If Zack could place more emphasis on story details as he does on the visuals he wouldn't need the visuals as much and would be a master story teller.

just back from seeing this on a 241.

whilst i can fully understand the concerns of superman-fanboys, as i am not one, i fully enjoyed this as a great action packed fx-fueled blockbuster.

great popcorn movie. roll on MoS2.

9/10 (a better start to a franchise than Batman Begins was for the DK trilogy. fingers crossed that they find a great lex luther for part 2)

I think people are comparing it to the immortal Donner movie, and in that it comes up very well short. Nothing was wrogn with that movie, not one scene. MoS doesn't really come anywhere close to that in being a great movie, but its still eyepopping fun in the carnage sense of the phrase.
