Sky's London bias
Sky's London bias
In the last two days SKy rewards have offered tickets but on both occasions only for London!
Sky customers who do not live in London need to let sky know what they think of the shabby treatment of the vast majority of their customers

Re: Sky's London bias
We've been here before. I'm sure Sky has a special deal in London because of the super screen at the O2 and there are a lot more people living in London opposed to many other cities (so it's only natural more screenings appear here).
Also, I don't think a FREE perk that comes with a subscription (but is not a part of the deal or something you p*y for) can be called "shabby treatment".

I'm sure if you email them that they'll be very much inclined to tailor to your wishes and provide you with more screenings nearer your location, because getting FREE screenings and other offers as a reward for being a customer is "crap".brum33 wrote:Sky is a crap company that treats all its customers shabbily!

Re: Sky's London bias
brum33, whilst I can empathize with your frustration (i am from the midlands too), this one fact negates your argument:
London 7200000
Birmingham 992000
London has nearly 8x the population of Birmingham. So it could be argued that they should get 8x the screenings. No one is arguing for this, but it has to be taken into consideration.

Re: Sky's London bias
8 times the tickets is not the same thing as no tickets at all everywhere else.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
Re: Sky's London bias
What everyone needs to remember is it isn't necessarily Sky's fault either. Geo-targeting is likely in play. I freelance in advertising and we get it all the time. Certain campaigns are national, and certain ones are only targeted to certain areas, sometimes london, sometimes not, but more likely than not London and southeast, it's likely that the distributor of Pacific Rim (and others which have posed the same issue) only wanted to target London, so that is what Sky is doing.
With regards to the Disney Screenings, that's a different thing, and therefore hard to lump in with regular Sky screenings. Bit of a shame they don't do those elsewhere, but it probably comes down to a similar issue.

Re: Sky's London bias
I've complained to Sky about this on their surveys sent after a screening ( any other comments). For me it doesn't matter how many people live in London as opposed to the rest of the country. We all p*y the same fees to Sky. I am a Sky customer.

Re: Sky's London bias
It's a perk though, it's not the reason you joined Sky surely, so Sky giveth and any second Sky could taketh perk away.
There's some subscribers on here, who live in some dodgy place called Uxbridge, she can count on one hand how many screenings she has had for the first half of this. Her sole purpose in life is to stay up till the late hours or get up early to get tickets for others.
