Give Undeclared a go. Fantastic short-lived TV series from the Apatow gang.

just bbfc'd this film, all I'm going to say is that from the onset I thought the film title was a bad choice

I loved this. Total nonsense and easily predictable story, but - hey! What did you expect? To begin with I was wishing that they hadn't glossed over the pre-story so much as I felt that would have been good in itself, however as it developed it all kinda worked.
I was quite glad of losing one brother twin early on as the two of them plus the other Australian guy looked so alike that it was going top be difficult to identify who was who. As it was I didn't even recognise Nathan from Queer As Folk anyway.
I loved the surprise of seeing Ron Perlman making an appearance.
Hated the two goofy scientist-types. I felt their so-called comedy input ruined the tension that had been built up.

Biggest bug-bear was missing out on the morning of the best day of the year so far - weather-wise. But - hey! it was free!

I'll give this a 8/10.

Dreadful. Never seen a Transformers movie, but I cannot imagine them being any duller than this.

First 20 minutes of the film is dedicated to telling us all how important it is that the 2 robot-drivers are closely linked with shared memories and then the rest of the film proceeds to pair up robot-drivers who have just met each other.

Boring.

1/10.

Epic bullshit. Snoozed through the beginning, it picked up a bit in the middle but snoozed through the end again. Didn't even understand half of it to be honest and wasn't terribly interested either. And what was Sean Slater from Eastenders doing in this? I couldn't help but compare it to the premise of Independence Day but where the characters there had been interesting, the plot thrilling as well as funny and the speeches rousing, this one had... well, Idris Elba. I am afraid though that's not enough to make a good film.

And what a farce at the O2. We were at the top of the stairs when we were finally let in shortly before 10am but they said we couldn't go to the balcony yet, that would be openend last. Some of us rightly thought that this was bullshit and headed upstairs anyway, but nobody turned up so myself and another bloke headed down again to enquire and complain - after a lot of back and forth we were told they would not be opening the balcony today. By that time the queue downstairs was 2 miles long so I cornered the Sky girl and asked her whether we were really supposed to join the tailend of that humongous queue, having been first and sent back and forth by them. She was good about it and fasttracked us and a few others so at least we got good seats downstairs.

But if I find out that they did open the balcony at the end to accommodate the steady stream of people, someone will get the mother of all complaints.

Epic waste of a sunny morning apart from saying hi to PXC, tsoiboy and hdaniel82.

5/10

Utterly amazing. I loved every single second of this. A reflexive, passionate piece of cinema that celebrates exactly why I love going to the movies. Herzog said the primary purpose of cinema is to expose us to new images and new ways of thinking and I can't think of many films that epitomise this more than Pacific Rim. Guillermo del Toro is a genius.
